I had my 1st colonoscopy last Friday the 27th... and I was scared. You know how we feel about the health care and us women.. black women. But let me tell you.. I felt so safe and cared for there. I didn't feel rushed or anything. Great experience for my first time and I'll tell everyone I know that's going to do their first one to go there!

Had a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy, I was very scared but everyone was so nice and caring. I didn’t have to wait long at all, and I had absolutely no pain or any side effects after. Was a much better experience than I expected and I left feeling happy and ready to eat

Will scam you and waste your time. Sent me for thousands of dollars worth of testing and it wasn't necessary. They knew nothing was going to show up on the tests. Primary sent me to a surgeon and he questioned the tests they put me through. My surgeon is sending me to surgery while these clowns wanted to do round and round tests. And let's talk about the billing... two different bills for one procedure and you won't even know about the second one until you get the letter threatening you going to collections. Meanwhile you will think you're in good standing on your bill with them. Think again! They're crooks! Scam artists and don't care about your health. Not even an "I'm sorry" when tests that could killed me were ordered - I questioned them multiple times too!

First off, the medical providers I interacted with at MEC were all friendly and professional and the care was excellent so this review is not a reflection on medical care. I am writing a two star review for the billing process that happened after my procedure.Due to a chronic condition I undergo a cancer screening procedure every year because I am at high risk. I have never had cost sharing associated with this procedure in the past 8-9 times I have had this procedure, it has always been classified as a preventive service. After receiving a bill for ~$400 I called my insurance company. My insurance said the procedure was "coded" as diagnostic by MEC and would not be covered as preventive and recommended I speak with MEC to resolve the issue.After speaking with someone in both the billing dept and coding dept at MEC multiple times I was still unable to resolve the coding error that they made. After filing an appeal with my insurance, calling MEC to ensure my account would not go to collections, and refiling an appeal with my insurance because of a long response time by MEC, something must have clicked because MEC resubmitted a claim indicating the colonoscopy was preventive and at that point my insurance covered 100% of the cost.To be clear, my insurance made no errors in their processing, it was 100% an error by MEC (although I would have appreciated more initial support from my insurance to resolve the issue before having to submit a formal appeal).Was all this worth $400 of my time? Absolutely not. But hopefully following through and getting MEC to document and fix their mistake will prevent this from happening to me or other patients in the future.In the future I intend to have my screenings done at the M Health Clinics and Surgery Center since my provider also performs screenings at that location. I have had several procedures there and all have been billed correctly.

Definitely request a price quote ahead of time. Ours was almost $400 for a 20 minute VIRTUAL visit. Virtual is the ONLY option right now, so they did not even get to see what my daughter had going on, I just described it and tried to show on the camera but it didnt work well. The doctor was nice enough, I just was floored by how expensive that short virtual visit, our healthcare system is a joke because it did not cover even a quarter of the bill and I dont see how it can cost that much for virtual, even with a specialist.

The nurses were great! They were very kind, and helped me with my anxiety before an upper endoscopy.

Terrible bedside manner. I was referred because I had a "mass" on my liver. It was showing to be benign, but they wanted an MRI to take a closer look. I never heard from them after the MRI. Called a couple weeks later to see why I never heard and was told by two different people that I would only hear from them if it's bad. Then I had a non clinical person reading my results over the phone and letting me know I'd need a other scan in a year. Something they felt unnecessary to inform me of had I not called. I felt it was a poor way to treat a patient and I'll be asking my PCP to refer me elsewhere for my next scan.
