List of Andrea Nelsen's Reviews
Dr Andrew has been nothing but helpful and supportive throughout my whole journey of navigating my diagnosis of ADHD. Dr Andrew has always been very professional. Dr Andrew made it easy and I felt that he was easy to talk to. Dr Andrew has gone above and beyond to ensure that my appointments throughout my treatment plan have always been accessible even if this meant him having to reach out to me on behalf of his staff, if they were not available to respond This to me shows what an incredible and professional doctor he is.
Made the process of adult rediagnosis of my ADHD as easy as could be with no judgement for my other sensitive health considerations.
I don't know why this Dr has been rated so high, I had a re diagnosis with him, This re diagnosis only was a 40 minute video call, and he rang 1 and a half hours late for my appointment, no apologies made! I also wanted to be assessed for asd, but have been ghosted even though I have made payments upfront. and I have sent over 4 emails requesting this. Had a an appointment set up, missed the call a few seconds later i called back, no answer and then i rang back a couple minutes later and the phone was switched off!! Disappointment is not a word i could even say, im way beyond that, out of pocket in thousands with no proper diagnosis.
Not for a second did I sense this man was trying to help me . I am a reasonably well adjusted adult who has navigate through life despite having undiagnosed ADHD . This man was rude , ill prepared , absentminded and condescending . Made me feel like I had done something wrong and feel extremely uncomfortable . just rattled of his list of questions and shoved the payment terminal in my face . the staff at the office were terrified of him
I am leaving a review here for Dr Nielsen to encourage people to see him. He assisted me in assessment, was professional and very knowledgeable in psychiatry and generally. I encourage everyone to look past the other reviews that may not be accurate or by well individuals as he is a funny and quirky man. I trust him with assessment and generally my care.
I believe Dr Andrew Nielsen might be receiving a lower rating due to his unconventional and unique presentation. I am leaving a positive rating here to encourage others to see him, in the hopes they can benefit from his help as I did. He is quirky and straightforward, which can be intimidating, particularly when meeting him for the first time while feeling nervous in anticipation of discussing sensitive topics (mental health). However, if you can overlook this, as I did, I have benefited from his expertise in ADHD medication. He is meticulous, and I am pleased to have him as my psychiatrist.
The best and most thorough doctor I’ve ever seen. Has helped me more than any doctor I’ve ever seen. Very hard to get appointments with, I think his skills are listening, getting you to open up and knowing when to speak or probe. All these quack jobs in here complaining sounds like you want home to be what every other doctor that has never helped you have been. His manner may appear odd, but it’s deliberate to get your reactions, get you talking and really let him figure what the underlying issues are. Face it if your seeing him you’ve probably got some issues, assess the facts you’re probably just want a reason to blame someone else again for why life isn’t all roses. Dr Neilson you’re a smart man I’ll be forever thankful.
Showed no interest in what I actually said. Lack of people skills. Just sat there staring at me and when I asked him stuff went on a ramble about other things. No thanks.
I have PTSD and ADHD and I am autistic. All three conditions are marked by abnormally low dopamine levels. So, Dr Andrew Nielsen gave me a domaine antagonist (Seroquel, a profoundly dangerous drug) without warning me not only that it was depressing me, but also that it was giving me brain damage and doing nothing to help me. I mean WTF?!!! I’d have done better with no so-called help. He refuses to pay for me to undertake brain injury / damage rehabilitation with a competent doctor and specialist recovery team, as do the other psychiatrists who wrongly gave me or directed me to take this destructive medication. Stay clear of psychiatry, people - it will only make your life worse than it already is.
I went through numerous psychological and psychiatric specialists before finding Dr Nielsen. He is an excellent Dr who’s knowledge of pharmaceuticals and varying treatment techniques have helped me immensely. In the beginning, I did everything I could to avoid treatment. He didn’t take any of my rubbish and has treated me for PTSD, Adult ADHD and a number of other mental health issues over the past 10 years. I have also recommended him to a number of friends who were suffering. Thank-you Dr Nielsen for giving me my Life back!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
