I had surgery on my back in 2015 for a herniated disk leading to foot drop. He and his team did minimally invasive surgery 1 day in hospital and came back to work a few days later. School bus driver! I will say it was the best choice I made. It's 2020 now I haven't been in pain since operation and the slight foot drop I had from the herniated disk pinching nerves never got worse after the operation. Dr Wills was fantastic. Recovery team at Woodwinds was wonderful after operation. Very small scar left from when he went in my back. These Surgeons at Summit Ortho can certainly get you back on your feet...

Dr Wills is very skilled and knowledgeable, as well as his PA. Those 2 were FANTASTIC! The office staff was not. The staff did not follow direction from Dr Wills and created unnecessary confusion and distress. When trying to clarify the disconnect, the follow up from his office staff went unheard. It was very disappointing to say the least and hope those 2 people never have to know how difficult it is to be in pain AND have to deal with staff that show they don't care. Away from these 2 staff people, I would give him 5 stars.

Do NOT let this orthopedic doctor tell you he can perform spinal cord surgery. He can certainly BILL for a spinal cord surgery, but a spinal cord issue requires a neurosurgeon and Dr Wills should be referring such patients to a neurosurgeon.

Dr. Wills gave me my life back when I had lost all hope and I am forever greatful to him and his team in the OR and everyone in diagnostics that worked on placement of my ADR. I was healthier than I have ever been when I was injured. I had a disk herniation with nerve impingement and had lost a lot of hope for my future I felt like a burden to my family and coworkers. Before surgery I was waking up every 3-4 hours all night long in pain and was sleeping on the wood floor in our house. My wife and two kids had to do all if the yardwork and I could barely sit up straight long enough to eat a bowl of cereal. I often had to compromise between getting up to go to the bathroom or staying put to avoid being in pain since going to the bathroom required being upright. I couldn't work, drive or get comfortable anywhere. I felt like my scapula was constantly being pried away from my spine. My wife and mother in law had to take me to every appointment. Life really sucked to say the least.....the first surgeon I saw went on medical leave the day after I had my consultation so it was back to the drawing board. Through my recovery I feel more than fortunate that my doctor directed me to Dr Wills. When there are so many choices of surgeons to see and it is something as life changing as my injury it really matters that someone gets it right the first time. I'm still young with a lot of years to work and I still have two kids to raise and almost 30 more years to work. I believe that procrastinating and seeking alternative therapies while in my condition would have only led to more permanent nerve damage and way more doctor bills. Dr. Wills completed my disk replacement in approximately 1 hour 30 minutes which I believe reduced my healing time and also reduced the chances for post op infections. My surgery was done at a smaller clinic which was nice because it was more peaceful with more dedicated staff per patient and I believe the area is probably easier to keep clean. I was eating cake 20 minutes after I woke up from surgery and was ambulating within 2 hours. Dr Wills made sure I was healed correctly and was ready to return to work. I felt like I had a golf ball in my throat through the healing process but that went away with time and patience. Patience is key to a good recovery. Don't rush into anything. I had nothing to lose at the time, so all the risks of the surgery we're worth it. I am forever greatful to Dr. Nicholas Wills. Thanks for restoring my hope to live and for giving me my life back. Being around medical for so many years I realize that everything could have not gone this well and that it truly mattered who was charge of my care. It is unrealistic to say that he can fix everyone or that everyone's story will end like mine. I was injured while I was healthy, so by doing my part it was easier for Dr Wills and his staff to be realistic with me and my recovery. If someone has been self destructive and let's their own health suffer and comes in expecting a miracle don't expect Dr Wills to lie he will be up front with your prognosis and not everyone is going to like it, but part of maintaining the integrity of his practice is to be realistic with people. I am hoping the disk he replaced will last till I die. For now I am doing well and am back to being a dad and working 40 hours a week in a physical job. I am greatful for his expertise and for the optimism and skill his PA brought to the table. I'm hoping I don't have any more disk problems, but if I do I would definitely put my trust in him and his team again without a doubt.

Dr will office team is TERRIBLE ppl to work with i been dealing with them dince FEBRUARY 18 with the dropping the ball several times now my spine is out of ALIGNMENT arm and had with know feeling and bad neck pain on to speak my mind to the office staff i called the today to see when is tge next surgery day only to find out they droped me as a patient he will hear from my lawyer

Dr. Wills and his team are so caring and compassionate...... they take the extra minutes to thoroughly understand your situation and provide realistic options to getting you feeling better. I can’t imagine where I would be without them!!
