List of Retina Consultants Of Minnesota - Woodbury's Reviews
Polly Quiram is a superb physician: knowledgeable, great listener, the initial treatment was exactly correct for Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion. Numerous monthly then yearly appointments continues to keep me informed and confirm that my eye sight is in good hands with Dr Quiram / Retinal Consultants of Minnesota.
The doctors I have seen are great and caring. Their staff that help with testing are very kind. But the wait times can be long.
Wait times are unacceptably long. Yesterday the appointment for my wheelchair-bound 97 year old mother took 2.5 HOURS from start to finish, most of which was spent confined in the waiting area between obtaining her OCT scan and seeing the doctor for her treatment. When similarly delayed patients in the waiting area expressed mounting frustration, staff members uniformly replied "we take people in time order"- a dispassionate rehearsed answer. If you have not yet chosen a provider and are using these reviews to gather information, consider wait times in your decision for you or your loved ones.
Pleasant, compassionate, professional, efficient -- from the front desk to the techs to the doc I saw.
Excellent care received from Polly Quiram and all of the staff! Thank you, Steve and Susan Kreitz
Update: I was able to speak with a supervisor at Retina Consultants of MN and he was empathetic towards my experience. I also was able to talk with Dr. Quiram and hearing her perspective gave me a lot more clarity on why she did what she did in the exam. She also showed humility to my concerns and even said she was glad we had the conversation so she could be mindful of parents that come in to those appts not know what to expect. We had a negative experience with Dr. Quiram during my 3 month old daughters appt. She was extremely rushed with us and was barely willing to answer our questions. We also believe she was too rough with our 3 month old daughter during the exam and didn't explain what she was doing and why which would've really helped prepare us for the metal tool that she had to use to open my daughters eyelids while my daughter screamed.
RCM staff are fast, friendly, caring, and patient focused. My treatment plan has made a huge difference in my quality of life and future health prospects. I highly recommend these folks!
I met a very disrespectful and erratic doctor. The nurse referred to him as Christopher K. Hwang, MD, PhD. He was extremely rude to my mom. Both my mom and I couldn’t believe he was a doctor based on the way he behaved—we couldn’t trust him. He yelled at us while my mom was seeking help for eye inflammation. We had been referred to him by another eye specialist, but the experience felt like a horror show. He didn’t take the time to properly examine my mom or investigate the cause of the inflammation. Instead of providing clear information, he shouted at us. We had to request and schedule an appointment with a different doctor. If you ever encounter this doctor, good luck to you.
I had an eye emergency. Arrogant staff acted as if I was lying. They put through two hours of b.s. before I could see the doctor. The doctor said I needed to go to the ER immediately. I have lost part of my vision permanently and I will never know if I was treated in a timely manner would have saved my vision.
The staff is friendly and professional and explained everything that was being done. I would recommend Dr Ryan to anyone, he is Professional and friendly and answered our questions and made us feel at ease, explained the scans and what he would be doing for treatment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
