List of Robert A Gaertner's Reviews
Dr. Gaertner is an impressive professional in the field of Urology. However, the office staff who supports his practice demonstrates a lack of concern, lack of responsiveness and is inept. It took 6 phone calls to this practice to get a surgical procedure scheduled. Other staff told us "the scheduler is on vacation" or "the phone system is messed up and you aren't able to leave a voice message". How is that OK? It's not. Post-op, the patient needed additional pain management (opiod 'crisis' caused a one-size fits all approach to pain relief -- which is really troubling). It took multiple calls on a Friday preceding a Holiday week-end to get a call back and a refill phoned in for a scant number (and milligram dosage) of pain meds. Nobody should be expected to go through a full surgical procedure for a kidney stone removal from a ureter, and stent placement, without pain medication to alleviate discomfort.
I was required to reschedule for being fifteen minutes late, instead of having the flexibility to fit me in (the waiting room was empty).
Dr Gaertner and staff were wonderful in the diagnosis and treatment. I highly recommend!
He is a really good man, and at everything he does. He has kept me, alive longer than I figured I would live.
There was a ball dropped somewhere in my scheduling. After a PSA draw on Feb1 and meeting with Dr. Knoedler on Feb 8, I had to message the practice in Sept to ask about if a 6 mo PSA would be required. The practice called back to schedule one on Sept 10. A week later, a message from the practice came back with test results an to schedule an appointment with Dr. Knoedler/Gaertner. I called to schedule and after waiting 25+ minutes on hold, the earliest appointment was for Dec 16. I think 3 months is a bit long to discuss a PSA test result that was nearly double from the one on Feb 1. I must give credit to the staff at Woodbury who took the blood sample for the PSA test. They were on time, courteous, and very professional.
Dr Gaertner is one of the few MD's that still appear to care about his patients. I would definitely recommend him to any of my friends.
Simply said, Dr Gaertner and the entire staff are very professional as well as friendly to deal with. I am sure they will keep up the fine work and high standards as time goes on.
It was a short visit, but I felt Dr. Gaertner took care of business in a kind and thorough way. It was a comfortable experience.
Felt very comfortable seeing him, also he was very resureing .
Dr. Gaertner has been my urologist for many years. He has helped me, with both medical and surgical procedures, for my kidney cancer and bladder and prostate problems. I have always put my absolute trust in his ability, and he has never let me down. What more can I say !

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
