Shahid Insaf's Online Review Report Card

Wonderful doctor horrible staff I love Dr Insoff and he has helped me a great deal. However his staff some are horrible to work with and so rude. It is very hard to get a hold of them and they don’t call you back until sometimes days later. On multiple occasions I have called and been cut off mid sentence or even hung up on. I was accused of lying and telling them to fill a wrong medicine when in fact it wasn’t me but my pharmacy had according to them tried to get ahold of them multiple times with no luck and they said I’d have to try to get ahold of them. My best advice is if your two weeks away from running out of medicine call then don’t wait. In my experience it has taken days to get my medicine refilled at times. My pharmacy has also had problems with them being rude and getting ahold of them. This came directly from them theirselves. If it wasn’t for Insoff I wouldn’t go here. The other provider is a woman and is wonderful as well but the office staff is not friendly at all.

Wonderful Doctor Quite simply the best doctor I have ever had. He has so much compassion and truly cares about his patients. He explains things so well, and I learn so much from him. He has literally saved my life more than once. I have been his patient for six years, and I drive an hour to see him and pay out of pocket. Psychiatric care is so important and quality care is so hard to find. He is worth it.

Best Doctor Ever! Dr. Insaf is more than just a physician. This earth angel listens and understands on a level that most people would never achieve in several lifetimes. He is caring, devoted, loyal, and trustworthy and also provides "Fatherly" practical advice. Like many have said he breaks it down like a fraction (because he understands how we think) he is by far the best psychiatrist and friend anyone could hope for. I could go on and on... My suspicions about the negative reviews are that these people have never experienced other psychiatry practices. Nothing is perfect, but we must give grace-even to a business-especially when much grace is given to us. I have personally witnessed several difficult patients in the office and I have so much respect for the staff that has always maintained professionalism and respect to the patient in need of help. When you are in need of a psychiatric doctor, it is very scary, but trust that this one will support you and keep your best interest always.

Overall, I am happy with Dr. Insaf and his staff. I do have some issues with prescription refills but that could be due to me not calling ahead of time to get refills.

Dr. Insaf is an excellent psychiatrist and diagnostician. He provides clear and concise treatment plans with very thorough discussion with patients. He is very empathic and genuinely cares for his patients.

One of the worst office I've ever come across for anything. I have been going to Dr. Insaf for years and for years it's always been the same thing. Rude staff (read "wife") and medication/prescription are a hassle every single month. No one ever answers the phone, they always take their time to call you back (most times a day later, sometimes two) and did I mention his wife is extremely rude? She should not be working with the public. Medication: I have two Rx with Dr. Insaf. If I wait until it's time to get a refill and I request a refill through my pharmacy the office "never received the request" and by that time I have had to wait for a call back. The office is closed fri, sat, sun. So no matter when you call about your Rx you get it a week later. (the time between calling, them calling you back, the Rx going through, and pharmacy time to fill it. If you call a week in advance to make sure you don't run out then "sorry it's too early for a refill". Dr Insaf good, office bad.

He is extremely patient and knowledgeable with me. He takes the time to discuss my problems and carefully explain why he is making the treatment decisions he is making. His nurse practitioners are equally kind and helpful.

I have been to many psychiatrists over the years, and Dr. Insaf finally arrived at the correct diagnosis and found the right medications for me. He has literally saved my life.

Dr Insaf is very good (THE BEST) but the billing staff is incompetent. The billing staff (HIS WIFE) is the rudest mercenary little gold digger I have ever met, and she runs the show. My insurance company has told them the codes that are acceptable and the billing staff refuses to bill under those codes and sends me the bills. Unless you are willing to pay out of pocket, go somewhere else.

Dr. Insaf comes across as very experienced and tries to implement himself as "boutique psychiatry" for the elite client. However, this could not be further from the truth. Patients are made to get drug test at every single appointment, my wife and I had an out of pocket deductible of 3000 that we had to meet before my insurance paid, so I paid for these drug test every month, I have never had a drug problem! I am just on a few controlled substances he started! Then his wife sends them out on every visit even if you have never had an issue with negative drug screens simply because our insurances was paying close to 400 dollars for each of these. I reported him to my insurance and they are investigating. Everyone waits days for a return call, sometimes you will go the entire weekend w/out your medication. His nurse told me one day that Dr. Insaf wasn't sending in the controlled meds himself, that she was, so therefore she would get to it "when she got to it." You get an assigned appointment time, they didn't care when I would tell them I had to be at work early or that I needed to drop my son off at school- they would say "this is when he will see you." One time I was on my way to work and got a flat tire and called to reschedule my visit, and even after having NEVER missed an apt before got charged a fee. His wife has changed my prescriptions and told me Dr. Insaf made the change, then when I went in to see him he didn't even know I was on that med. They will give you 28 tablets of a medications vs. 30 depending on your apt date and sometimes I have to pay two copays in a month because of this junk! He may spend his time, but most of the time it is listening to himself talk.
