I set up an appointment to see this doctor, along with my 87 year old father who just was released from the hospital the day before with three broken ribs. We had seen this doctor in the past. We missed an appointment. He came into the room without even saying hello, sat down and literally shouted at the both of us for missing the appointment. He yelled at us so loud, you could hear it in the lobby! My dad is 87 years old and senior citizens, especially who have very bad diabetes, a bad heart which is in Afib can't always make an appointment due to recent falls, illnesses with bowel issues and urine issues and hospital admittance. The rudeness and lack of compassion this doctor showed us was the worst I have seen or could have imagined. He should have sent us a notice or a letter, or just came into the room and politely and professionally declined us, rather than berate a sick senior for 10 minutes about how irresponsible he was for missing his appointment. NO STARS!

Had a phone appointment with Dr. James Wirkkula and he was outstanding. Very knowledgeable, knew immediately what my issue was and his treatment recommendations were on spot. After 2 days my problem has improved 90%, I just wish he was closer to where I live, I would request him as a primary without hesitation.

I have the utmost respect for Dr. Wirrkula, he's seen me through many trials and been there looking out for my best interest always, he tells it like it is in a way I'm OK with. If only I could listen to all his advice, I truly appreciate him and his staff, thank you for caring.!

Bates county hospital is wrongfully micromanaging operations, omitting patient care and preventing the doctors from great patient care, which this doctor refused to roll patients as battled just to bill. He takes care of his flock. God bless him.
