If i could give 0 stars i would, my mom was only there a short time, it took 6 hours to get her sent to the hospital where she ended up septic and malnutrition, in icu for 5 days and completely out of it. Their lack of care is inexcusable, the doc didnt even examine her when she came in, and the food was disgusting. DONT SEND UR LOVED ONES HERE.
I had horrible experience to stay there. I saw my doctor in first two days, he gave me his business card that was it. He did not even do any examine or check up on me. He was not even wrote the medical records, he only put I walked. Because of that the insurance company did not prove it, the insurance company asked him to do peer to peer. He did not answer phone call, I asked to see him that he never showed up. I was trying to find him in the office he was not there. We asked the office to send the claim to the insurance company, they wanted me to pay the bills first.
I wish I could indicate 0 stars. Words cannot describe how utterly terrible the experience here was. My family member has been home for months and still cries out in terror about the cruel treatment they received. My family’s requests were consistently ignored by the nursing staff leaving my loved one in pain and complete discomfort. My family member consistently had bruises the nurses had been unable and unwilling to explain. There was only one nurse who seemed to take her job seriously and cared about the well being of her patients. The pt was either non existent or completely pathetic and the administration staff is clueless and impersonal. I had to go searching for nurses every day as there is seemingly no one checking in on a regular basis. Requests are generally unanswered and the staff could care less about anyone but themselves. I would hear other patients screaming out for help only to have no one come to check on them. No one who works here or comes wants to be here. Hire a staff who actually wants to be in the health care industry. People can recover from physical pain emotional trauma lasts forever.
This place let my dad suffer july 20th which was yesterday there was someone across his room that said they heard him cry for help for hours that night later that morning around 8 he passed away wouldnt recommenr this place to nobody
BJEC EvaluationSince a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) has multiple aspects so I am going to rate each category as I experienced them for nearly 10 weeks. I am grateful for everyone’s service, because my husband began opening his eyes after 14 weeks of deep coma. The staff didn’t give up!FACILITY INFRASTRUCTURE AND CLEANLINESS—4 starsDoes not have the “nursing home” smell and it looks like a business hotel. They could improve by thoroughly cleaning the window screen.CARE TAKERS—4 StarsUp beat, respectful and kind. Consistent between day and night shift. Not always observant and communicative about small changes in patient’s condition, such as early signs of bed sore.CLINICIANS—3 StarsDismissive and resigned, difficult to get hold of them. Try to get Dr. Bavlsik assigned to your loved one.ADMINISTRATION—1 StarEvasive, disorganized, doesn’t seem to have a very good communication between accounting, admission, and administrator. Social Worker is overloaded and difficult to catch. It’s hard to believe that they are operating in capitalistic system: don’t seem to know how to invoice, unable to accommodate bank transfer for payment, etc.The senior vice president seems to be indifferent to sincerely serve the interest of the family. I had to eventually hire an attorney to communicate with him. They are no longer accepting "long term care" patients, yet their official name and website continued to offer it. It's very misleading. In the end, the family needs to be constantly advocate for the loved ones to ensure that the “compassionate care” is being provided. This seems to be the case in any medical facility.
My aunt was taking to this place for rehab on May 14th. And around the 17th they took her phone away. The only lifeline to her family and friends. She has since passed away. When we got her phone back, there were several messages she missed from family. You shouldn't take away anyone's line of communication. Before she pass, she kept saving they took my phone.
Awful place. They're completely and unaccountably unresponsive to basics needs. Father just got out of hospital and has drains and other things that need emptying. It takes them hours just to respond. He called me crying one time because he was trapped in his chair and had been screaming for help at the top of his lungs for 45 minutes and no one had ever come. Where is the supervision? Where are the nurses? Everyone just puts aside help and walks away, it's like no one is qualified to do anything. We thought with the Barnes Jewish name this place would be ok. It is a 180 from the level of care recieved at the hospital, it's HELL. Whoever is in charge needs to get their people in gear.
My father-in-law left that place with multiple bed sores, open sores. They did not give him the rehab he needed. They kept saying he refused. He has a communication problem and I don't think he understood what they were asking him. He went in to rehab for a fractured leg and came out worse than when he went in! They put him at the nurses station at night until 4 am so I don't think he was getting the rest he needed. They were afraid he was going to get up in the middle of the night so they stuck him at the nurses station. I do not recommend this place. Very bad experience!
The BEST rehab!!I have pictures I'd like to post pictures if I'm allowed. My husbands experience was top notch.
Not even worthy of one star. If you have any other choice, do not send your loved ones to this facility. My father was told "I don't know how to make coffee" on more than one occasion when he asked for a cup, treated rudely by some staff, sat with full urinals and made to wait for far too long of a time for anything he asked for. He asked everyone he could for medicine to help control his cough, which they ignored. He coughed so much and so hard a surgical wound on his chest opened up, pouring blood and creating an emergency situation. He had to go back to the ER for emergency surgery to close the wound. BEST THING THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. We refused multiple times for him to go back to this place, and he's now in Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital instead and SO much happier. There are some caring staff at BJEC but they are far too few and far between. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE AT ANY COST.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
