This doctor spends 5 minutes with a person, doesnt listen, and his manner is rude, and disrespectful.
This doctor spends a short amount time with his patients. He doesnt listen, and cares very little about his patients. It is sad when you have waited to go to a doctor who just brushed you aside and doesnt even try to find out what is going on with a person.
Not only is Dr. Yost an outstanding doctor, he is also empathetic .
Waited an hour and a half to see him for 5 minutes. His staff at the Mexico office is absolutely horrible. They had test results I was waiting on for over a week. I had to call to inquire about them, only to have the nurse laugh on the phone that the Dr hadn't read them yet and he wouldn't be in for a few weeks. Then, they took it upon themselves to "read" them for the Dr, and gave me incorrect information. I can't speak for his Columbia location, but don't waste your time with Mexico.
Attempted to check in, no one was at the window. 2 sales ladies brought the office lunch and they chatted and giggled at the window for 10-15 minutes. The receptionist's daughter arrived showing off her belly to everyone (again being ignored). Waited 40 minutes and watched several people go back that arrived well after I did. Finally, that receptionist asked if she could help me, then scolded me for not checking in. I left without being seen. I won't be back. This was the Columbia office.
So I was just seen yesterday and had labs drawn and sent off to California!! They told me it would take about 7-8 days to get results!! I received a phone call from Dr. Jost from his personal cell phone even being out of state to inform me that there were things elevated in my lab work and wanted to start me on medication immediately!! How impressive is that! A doctor out of state and took the time to call me directly and inform me of what's going on and get me medications started. From his personal number of all things!! Good thing I'm not a creeper, but super excited and happy that I stuck with this doctor as I thought about going elsewhere!! I would recommend this doctor to anyone who thinks they may have rheumatoid arthritis!! He gets 5 stars from this guy!!!!!
ok dr.
Spent 10 minutes that he made clear he couldnt spare for me. Told me I was imagining symptoms.
Ive been seeing Dr. Jost for 5 years. He has gotten my RA into remission and the few times its come out, hes been quick to respond with the necessary drugs. When my insurance company refused to cover Enbrel, he wrote all the needed letters to get it approved. The next year when my insurance company insisted that I change to a different drug, that works in a different way, he again wrote letters arguing why I needed to stay on Enbrel. Insurance complied again. Bottom line he cares!
I went to Dr. Jost for a second opinion after the first rheumatologist dismissed my RA symptoms as basically just some type of arthritis. Dr. Jost immediately looked at my blood work and listened to me explain my symptoms, did a brief examination and told me I have RA! I was very relieved to finally get an answer, after 3 excruciating months of pain.
Im finding out things that xrays showed, none of which he ever shared with me. After two years told me to go get a second opinion on coccyx inflammation, but never gave me a first opinion.
I wrote a review recently and wanted to follow up to it. Im really glad I didnt decide against Jost after my first appointment with him. He is a very good doctor and Im thankful to have met him. He might be a bit rough around the edges but Im going to keep seeing him. Hes helpful and takes the time to investigate complex symptoms. (I still wish his office was a bit more cheerful.)
Dr. Jost is wonderful! It took me a little bit to get used to him but I have quickly learned that he is a caring doctor and goes the extra mile for his patients. And his confidence in his skills gives me confidence that he will help my condition no matter what comes. Many doctors have told me that Dr. Jost is an excellent physician and thats been my experience. On first impression hes an a$$ spend some time with him and see him more than once and you will be glad you did. (If youve seen the TV show House Dr. Jost reminds me of Dr. Gregory House. He gives off the impression of being a jerk but he really does care and works hard to properly treat patients. AND hes a very skilled rheumatologist.) Im glad I didnt dismiss him after the first visit. Hes been wonderful to and for me.
First of all the clinic itself is confusing but the staff expect you to somehow just know their process. While the clinic is named Boone Clinic dont be fooled. That is their name but they are not at all affiliated with Boone Hospitals and Clinics. If you ask they will admit this. The check in process was frustrating and confusing. The staff at the clinic as well as in Dr Josts office appear to be miserable and unhappy. Very offputting. I had a long wait and dont know why but I wish they would take a look at the artwork on the walls. They are abstracts of people depressed and or in pain or slumped over giving up. The opposite of inspirational. That mood set me up for a negative experience. I think Dr. Just might be competent but its hard to tell because he is rather glib. When he discussed my condition he named a disease and said thats good news! To which I responded, really? Do you want to have it? He seemed to take that well so perhaps that is his personality. He seemed to show concern and he left twice to check references and consult with another of my doctors. I have no idea if he will follow up. I left even more confused than when I went to him, but he did rule out some things and he even investigated exceedingly rare disorders. I was not impressed with the clinic or his bedside manner but I have not yet ruled him out as a doc. I can imagine him being the way others have commented here. I will follow up later if I see him again.
Seemed very disinterested in helping me with my problem. Aloof and dismissive. Did not have any suggestions for what I should do next to get relief of my symptoms. Once he determined, to his satisfaction that my problem was not rheumatologyrelated he showed be the door.
I went to see him after my PCP found that I had an elevated ANA result. He put me on medication and ran some blood tests. The blood work came back and said that I was one of the less than 5% of the population that had high ANA but did not have autoimune (dispite an overwhelming amount of symptoms). He took me off the medication that had been helping and told me to go home and stop worrying so much. He also told me that my pain was a result of being too heavy (I was at a weight that I had been comfortable with for years and suddenly developed symptoms of pain and swelling). He actually told me that my hips were hurting because I was probably wearing my pants too tight (from being overweight). He was rude and unfeeling. He treated me like I was stupid and blamed everything on my weight. (and I wasnt that heavy!!) What a jerk... steer clear of him and save yourself some tears and stress.
Been going to him about six years. I see him about every two months. Didnt like him at first. But now I really like him. Over the years we have developed a good working relationship. He listens to me and I have learned to trust him. Bring a written list of your questions/symptoms. It really helps things go smoother.
Dr jost made me feel horrible about myself. He wouldnt even take the time to listen to me. He was walking out the door as I was still trying to talk to him. Ive never felt so stupid in my life. He was very judgemental. I will never go back to this man. Ever. He had the worst bedside manners Ive ever encountered.
