Visited a family friend there today and was very concerned about the level of care Not Given? She had requested assistance to the bathroom early this morning and as of 12-12:30pm when I was there no one had come in to assist her, put clean sheets on her bed, physical therapist came in around 11am but left immediately without a word or when she/he would return???I understand that rehab facilities and hospitals are very under staffed but surely someone could have come in to help her in 4 hours?????
I removed my Mom as I saw that she received what I consider substandard care. I tried on several occasions to work with nurse manager and dietitian to improve her care. I also reached out to the quality manager to lodge a complaint but my call was never returned. The staff were very slow to respond to request for assistance, the unit was constantly beeping as residents were waiting for care. It would generally be 15 minuets or more for someone to come. The staff also did not ensure that they kept the call button within my Mom's reach. they also did not come every 2 hours and check with her to see if she needed any help. She also had staff that were not well trained on doing transfers from chairs and bed. She had many skin tears and bruises. They lost many of her clothes. At one point she had only a few pair of sock when she started with a whole drawer and also down from 12 nightgowns to one. The food was not good and although we requested gravy or sauces for her pureed foods this request was not followed. The dining area was not cleaned after each meal and if my Mom spilled food on herself there was no help to clean it off her or her wheelchair.
Thank you to the amazing team at Bethesda Meadow for their care of our dad. No one wants to go to a nursing home, but there is a tremendous amount of life and love there. Our Father was well cared for and the staff couldn’t have been better to work with. All of our gratitude!
My mom was there for rehab after hip replacement. 5 years ago when my mother in law was in rehab there, it was great, now , not so much. Meds are not given out properly, no shower for the whole time she was there, most of the care givers were rude to her . There was a couple of them good help. I took her out after 2 weeks and brought her home and rehabbed her myself.would not recommend this place anymore, or until they weed out the bad ones.
I agree with the others that one star is too high of a rating. My dear friend passed away recently and unfortunately had been a captive here. The idea was for her to get her strength up, but the staff didn't have the time. Bathing is rare, the Ensure drink was hardly available and was supposed to be given three times a day. They put diapers on her since she was unable to get the normal assistance getting to the bathroom. The meds were hit and miss. She slowly declined, so after trying to work with the staff to no avail, we got her out. I still pray for the unfortunate people still stuck there and the staff.
The food is horrible. Not enough nurses on the 4th floor.
One star is overrating this place.Where to start... father in-law admitted for rehab after quadruple bypass and was only in for two weeks. Had issues with medication being given and never told him what he was getting. Just a lot of pills and knocked him out. The local Bathesda Dr over-rode the specialty dr’s orders on what medications to give him and put him on meds that he was having severe reactions to in the hospital. Rehab was a joke. Took a week to “evaluate” him and did absolutely no good. We had to physically go there and discuss with two employees our issues and yet nothing changed. Wounds were not getting cleaned or dressed and bathing was a joke. Had one bath the whole time.Removed him from the facility on Saturday night. By Monday morning at 5am he ended up in the ER with Covid. Chest X-ray and dr’s said he was about 5-6 days into Covid. I tried calling explaining to Bethesda they had an issue and they flat out denied he ever got it there and even became very rude over the phone even though evidence stated otherwise. Two days later and both myself and my wife are positive for COVID.Still can’t get a phone call back from the place. I DO NOT recommend this facility.
This has been a good move for our Mom. Everyone has been very helpful since our Mom arrived there in the fall of 2020. She is being well taken care of. She feels safe and valued. She loves the food and activities. She loves the one on one attention she receives. We appreciate all of these things!
Four weeks After surgery, received loving care and service, from Smiling doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, Med techs,CNA’s, Social workers,Housekeeping and all round pleasant experience. A BIG THANKS 😊
This place is horrible! I went to go visit my grandma and she complained of a younger nurse being really mean to her and grabbing her arms really hard and hurting her and yelling at her! She has been there 4 days and in that time has had a really nice robe stolen and 2 really nice brand new bottles of Victoria secret lotion taken. And they haven't given her a bath the whole time she has been there! 4 days!!!While I was visiting, another resident rolled in on her wheelchair and told us she had a horrible headache since the day before and they won't give her anything for it. Said they lock her wheels on her wheelchair so she can't go anywhere and as the nurse came to grab her, she kept saying almost in tears that they don't ever let her do anything. I almost started crying. It was like something out of a sad, sad movie. I'm so glad they are taking my grandma out of there today! I feel so sorry for all the other residents in there!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
