Catherine Gallo's Online Review Report Card

Gallo was extremely rude from the very beginning and responded to things with an eye roll several times. She aggressively poked at me and never reviewed anything with me in the room. Very pointless appointment. I am absolutely appalled by her demeanor and have never experienced a more rude doctor.

She was cold ( didn't introduce herself or ask my name or anything), and except for one post-surgery appt with her PA there was no follow up. No call to see if I was OK, no referral to physical therapy...Surgery was for spinal stenosis. I think it helped, but it wasn't a "fix." I don't blame her for that, but her haughty and patronizing manner was something else! A person CAN be an excellent surgeon and also a nice person...but she's only the former.

Pretty cool web site. As a prior patient, it’s difficult to contact their office via email or phone. Neck surgery February 2023, still no relief, worse than before surgery.

I guess I’m not alone from reading reviews. I went to her because a couple friends and acquaintances recommended her. Who knows? One thing in common with all their experiences was her patient presentation. Very blunt and to busy to discuss small details. Her staff was very considerate, polite. My neck is worse than before surgery.

After loosing use of hands, arms and legs, from an injury I had spinal decompression surgery in December. I am getting all use back and walking and driving again... Bedside manner was non existent, but she did an excellent job....

The nurse advised me to take my shoes and socks off, and that she would tell the doctor I was ready. I kept them on because I was waiting in a freezing room for 55 minutes. Dr Gallo walked in, never introduced herself, and just said, “ take off your shoes and socks.” I told her I would have done that while I was waiting for her except it’s too cold in here. She waived her arm dismissively and left the room! Several minutes passed before she returned. She then spent 5 minutes with me! I was seeing her for herniated discs. She explained nothing. She poked my feet with a sharp prong. She actually said to me, “you could get a shot in the butt.” Period. That was it. She said “you may put your shoes and socks on.” And she left the room! I had to go out and ask her staff if my appointment was actually over. This was the worst doctor I have ever seen!!!! I had to give her a star to submit this rating, but in reality she deserves zero stars. Terrible experience.

I have never met such a horrible provider. She was rude from the first moment to the last, cruel in her delivery, didn’t take the time to review my chart (yes, to a simple x-ray), spent about 5 minutes with me, had her MA show me the x-ray, and barely examined me. She told me I’d need total spine surgery, two weeks in ICU, one year of not being able to do anything, and I could “forget about doing yoga ever again” as she wave her hand dismissively at me. What was the worst part? When I said I was going to OHSU for a consult, she was dismissive of them, nearly rolling her eyes at the mention of OHSU. What a nightmare appointment! Thank goodness for OHSU because they did not recommend what she told me I needed. And they were professional, kind, thorough and truly listened. Completely opposite of Dr. Gallo.

Very professional experience, I'm grateful for the neurosurgeon and her team and their exceptional abilities.

Dr. Catherine Gallo is an amazing doctor. She gave my husband his ability to walk again after a tragic fall that left him with paralysis and loss of blood flow to his spine.
