I would highly recommend Dr. Matthew Neale for any eye surgery you may need. I am a retired RN of 40 years and have never written a review before but feel compelled to do so in hopes it will lead anyone who needs eye surgery to Dr. Neale. He did my cataract surgery this week and it could not have gone better. The entire experience from my initial meeting with Dr. Neale and his staff, to the surgery and check up afterwards went beyond my expectations. I felt well educated about the procedure and well cared for thoughout the surgery which really helped to alleviate any anxiety I had. I would give greater than a 5 star rating if I could and am so thankful I had no complications and now have 20/20 vision. Thanks again to Dr. Neale and all the staff!!

Dr. Neale did cataract surgery on both my eyes.  I was referred to him by my optometrist.  I was very pleased with his friendly and professional manner.  His office staff, the same.  Most importantly, my outcome was outstanding.  Two days after surgery my eyes were 20/20 WITH NO GLASSES!  I couldn't be more pleased

Dr. Neale is very professional, personable, kind and caring. He diagnosed narrow angle glaucoma early and did the laser surgery. I couldn't be more pleased. I think he is very skilled and I trust him completely.

My entire experience with Dr. Matthew Neale and staff at Eugene Eyecare was most pleasurable! I found Dr. Neale to be warm and personable, explaining and answering all my questions. I don't personally see Dr Neale but if I could I would in a heart beat. My sister and my mother have both seen him. He is one of the best doctors I have met. He takes his time with his patients, he is kind, compassionate, and will do anything in his power to help. Each patient is special to him. He has done so much for my sister. He truly cares. And if it is something he feels another doctor should see the patient for he will refer you. I can't enough good things about him. Thank you Dr Neale!

My wife had cataract surgery on both eyes six weeks ago.  Dr Neale and his staff were very friendly, informative, and professional!  And after using non prescription eyeglasses to see about anything for years, my wife doesn't need them anymore at all!  She can even thread a needle!  We are very happy!  Even makes my wife feel younger!  Thank-you Dr Neale and your staff! We would recommend Eugene Eyecare to everyone!

God bless Dr. Neale. He removed my cataracts and restored my vision. It is so amazing to be able to see when I wake up in the morning without glasses. And the colors! I had no idea what I was missing with the yellow cataracts. I still remember the day of my surgery, how kind Dr. Neale was, because I felt nervous. Here is a detail oriented, conscientious and committed surgeon with integrity.

Dr. Neale was a godsend for me. After having a truly horrible experience with my left eye cataract surgery with another Dr. I was filled with trepidation when I went in to see Dr. Neale. After many false starts, Covid, breaking my back, scheduling problems, etc., I finally had my right eye cataract surgery done.  What can I say?? How about 20-20 vision!!! And the ability to live without glasses. I'm beyond trilled... The staff is pleasant and capable,  but Dr. Neale is a star!

I have been a patient of Dr. Matthew Neale since June of 2017 when he first treated me for wet age-related macular degeneration.  On May 4, 2021 he performed cataract surgery on my left eye. The surgery itself went well and everyone at the Lane Surgery Center was helpful in both relaxing me and explaining the procedure to come. I was elated with the results of my cataract surgery. The following morning I could easily drive to a follow up appointment with Dr. Neale. Everything seemed so much brighter and "in focus" than before the surgery.  The colors of trees and flowers were quite brilliant compared to the day before.The follow up visit went well. Dr. Neale is, in my opinion, the finest ophthalmologist I have had in my 66 years of eye care. He is professional and yet has a great sense of humor. He cares about his patients and knows the importance of communication.  He takes time to explain options and possibilities. Having him as my ophthalmologist has made a huge difference in my vision and outlook. He truly has become a friend. I highly recommend Dr. Neale to anyone seeking an eye surgeon.
