List of Justin Hugo's Reviews
Same as other 1 star reviews. Never saw Dr Hugo for 10 years. Saw his Physicians assistant (4stars). Never realized how little they cared until I changed to a new practice and saw a very competent Doctor. Don’t bother, try another practice.
Terrible excuse for a dr and even worse office staff. Nurses were fine as was the physician asst whom I always saw. Do the research there are great physicians out there not here.
Both my daughter and I have left his practice as patients. Years ago, when I first went to Dr. Hugo, he was the one who would see me, and I put my trust in him to care for me. During the next few years, I was only ever seen by one of his Physician Assistants. I truly forgot what he even looked like. On June 7, 2019, our daughter was tragically killed and I was in a terrible state. Family called Dr. Hugo to ask if he could give me something to help me get through this. While his office staff did offer their condolences, Dr. Hugo could not be bothered personally to return our calls, offer his condolences, or help in any way other than advise his staff to tell us to take me to an emergency room. As I told him to his face, he is supposed to be my doctor. It is his name I enter on forms as my doctor's name, not one of his PAs. I trusted him to care about his patients but his office has become a money mill, and it appears that money, not medicine, is now his only priority.
Dr. Hugo is great, but since he has gotten so busy you have to schedule appts with him 4-5 months in advance. his phone is always busy now and it takes forever to get an answer.
I love Dr Hugo and his PA. They are very nice and helpful. He is a little hard to see him but most of the time I do not need to see him.
Similar to other reviews, I was very happy with Dr Hugo when I initially met him at my first appointment a few years ago. But after that visit, you’ll find it takes months to get in to see him. They will want you use to use the physicians assistant, Stephanie, who is probably the most arrogant and rude person I’ve ever met in my life. The ladies at the front desk are lazy and act like they’re doing you a huge favor to do their job. I liked Hugo but I’m switching doctors due to these issues
I am an established patient and it takes 5-6 months to see the doctor. The office staff always pushes seeing the nurse practitioner who I am not comfortable with. You do not get your lab results unless you follow up and even when they are abnormal the NP says everything is ok! dr hugo may be great, who knows, you never see him and because of that I would steer clear of this office.
Dr Hugo is great Doctor. You usually have to see nurse practitioner because he is busy.
Horrific is too kind of a word to describe the experience my mother had with Dr. Hugo. In addition to having her on approximately twenty different kinds of medications, he ended his "therapeutic" relationship with her after learning she sought a second opinion from a competent physician. That action spoke volumes. He clearly does not have confidence or pride in his own work, so he chastised an elderly woman for trying to better herself. It seems he chose his ego over the best care of his patient. I also had a less-than-pleasant conversation with his office manager who told my mother that she had no right to seek a second opinion and should have had the guts to tell her children that she didn't need a second opinion. All in all, this man either never really wanted to take care of people or has completely lost sight of what his purpose is.
Trying to see Dr Hugo is virtually impossible. You get to see the physician assistants. I am not saying they are not capable, but when I want to see the Dr, I want to see the doctor. It should not be the office manager making the decision as to which patients see the doctor. There is so many layers to his office one must go through in order to possibly see the doctor. It is ridiculous. Therefore, I opted to find a new primary care physician.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
