Likes to cancel appointments and then hold your prescriptions hostage because you haven't been in to see him. I'm type 1 diabetic, I'll die without insulin for a couple days. Was referred to him by my primary who was also in Mercys network. No one anywhere bothered to tell me he wasn't in my insurance network. So having to keep seeing him without insurance covering it until an appointment with a new endocrinologist. The "diabetes educator" knows maybe half as much as me about the disease. I'm guessing she only really talks to type 2 diabetics. Had to Google information about different medications while trying to talk to me about how they work, when already knew all the info she was trying to figure out to give me. Absolute joke of a practice and I'm close to filing a lawsuit.
No empathy or understanding for what the true symptoms of her patients with Graves goes thru or maybe it's just ignorance. Unprofessional.
Scheduled an appointment 5 months ago, just to get a call today saying that appointment has to be cancelled. My next available spot is in 2 months. Not sure why they would schedule me so far out just to cancel on me a week prior to my appointment and make me wait even longer. Not too thrilled about this. You guys should've called months ago if you knew he wouldn't be in office. Also should try to fit me in the same week i was originally scheduled. The lady on the phone did not even apologize for the extreme inconvenience.
Can not believe how connected this man is to every patient. I never feel rushed. I understand and feel free to ask questions. His staff is polite and courteous. Just all good. He is real. He is a straight talker. I found him refreshing.
Waiting several months for an appt. with Dr. M, I anticipated having a thorough discussion with him about disease mgt. strategies. He spent 13 minutes with me; even less time my second visit (I waited 45 minutes to see him). He is kind and knowledgeable, but I feel like a herd member. Would like him to take time to hear my questions, explain med therapeutic/adverse effects, also, talk about lab results.@
does not listen, he cares about how many numbers of patient to see and $$$$
I've been with Dr. Makhsida for 6 years now, and diabetic for about 20. He is a very good doctor who is very thorough on my visits - everything ranging from my diabetes, my thyroid, swelling or feet and the twice a year "let's check your protein" tests. If I had any criticism it would probably be that I've been very bad about monitoring and just taking my insulin with meals, etc. and he hasn't been more strict with me about it once he gets his A1-C results. I would recommend him to anyone and, in fact, did recommend him to my own brother. Now that he is in the hospital rather than at Mercy, I've only had one appointment that had a long wait time. Before that, my waits were no more than 5-10 minutes. I also agree with other people's comments about his staff/nurse. He had a really good one I think was Tabitha, and she left. The one he had after that was horrible. But I do believe he got a new nurse just prior to moving to the hospital.
Not patient oriented. Cancels appointments often. My grandmother is seeking another doctor because he cancelled two appointments which would make us wait ANOTHER month to see him. He also pushes Crystal Oaks Nursing Home, which is nice if you are looking for a place to move... but isn't great to discuss in front of elderly people that cannot deal with change. Told my grandmother she was fat. Too abrupt for us. Overall, not a good experience. We stayed with him for close to a year but are transferring records to another doc. I am sure he is well qualified and seems very knowledgeable but we need a doc that is active in my grandmother's care plan. We tried but now are starting over. Lost a year.
He is very Knowlegable.
The staff of Dr Makhsida is very unprofessional. They do not translate your needs to the dr properly and act like it is a bother to help you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
