List of Cockerell & Mcintosh Pediatrics's Reviews
Staff is nice, never had any problems. They usually figure out what is wrong with my child. Kids love to play in the play areas.
This was my first and last time going to this doctors office. Took my 4 year old in to get looked at they said her throat was really red and probably had strep, so the nurse came in with a swab, she had my husband hold her arms and head and then proceeded to SCRUB my daughters throat with the swab. I was absolutely mortified! It sounded like she was getting her teeth brushed, that nurse was so rough. No wonder they needed money up front, I’d have been too livid to pay them for doing that to my child afterwards. Most doctors know it doesn’t take much to get results from a swab test. I’m horrified. I think I’ll still to my hour long drive to see a competent gentle doctor and nurse. DONT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE.!
We love the Higginsville office. so clean. Nurses are always so helpful. The Dr.is very knowledgeable. We have been going there for several years.
Always impressed! They are always on time with appointments. Never wait more than a couple of minutes. Their waiting room is beautiful and always clean. They have two sections for well kids and sick kids; so I always feel comfortable going in. The front staff is always friendly and helps with insurance and checkup routine scheduled visits. The nurses are patient and very kind. They also do great with shots. Dr. Cockerell is always thorough and has great advice to get dad involved with baby care. I definitely recommend this office- worth the drive for us!
I wouldn't recommend going here if you've had trouble breastfeeding and had to make the switch to formula. Nothing like having the NP look down on you for making that very difficult decision.
Daughter has gone there twice, and they keep trying to test her for coronavirus when it isn't that. Ended up going to a different doctor the same day and it was strep. They will automatically assume its corona and not even consider it being something else!
Doctors are great and staff in Higginsville are very kind, however when making appointments or dealing with billing they are extremely rude ( everytime I've called) yet the treatment our kids get still trumps somone over the phones rudeness. Billing is a little squirly and not very helpful when having an issue with insurance other than that and the rudeness on the phone from Blue Springs office we love the doctors and staff here in Higginsville.
Switched to Dr. Cockerell when my son was just 2 months old and we live about an hour away. It is SO worth the drive! He’s one of the most sincere, caring, honest, and trustworthy pediatricians in the KC greater area! He’s also got a great staff as well! Highly recommend!
Strongly recommend this place! The staff is super sweet and it was very easy to get an appointment! Our appointment was very fast the nurses did a great job with our baby! We went to doctor Mozer and he was fantastic!
Wish I could give this practice a better review. The facility was clean and had professional staff. However, the doctor was extremely condescending and unsupportive of parents making informed decisions when it comes to vaccinations for their children (how many, when, etc.). He scoffed when I told him I'd like to know a little more about vaccines before giving any to my newborn and said, "Because I'm just a stranger and might lie to you, right?" Although he quoted articles from the CDC and AAP almost word for word, after stating his practice was the best pediatrician group in MO three times during the 15 minute checkup, he literally stated "If you choose not to vaccinate according to our schedule, we ask that you keep looking for a pediatrician and go somewhere else." This is after I explained that I'm not anti-vax at all and was vaccinated as a child, but I just thought that making an informed decision concerning the healthcare of my child was never wrong. Dr. Charlie apparently believes that it should be within his power to make those kinds of decisions for you as a parent. Too bad.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
