List of Patrick Sporleder's Reviews
I have been a patient of Dr. Spordleder for over 5 years, and have endured him hopping from facility to facility i.e. St. Mary’s, Capital Region, JCMG, etc. He has been a very thorough physician but for the last year and a half, he has been very nonchalant, rude, and abrasive and takes forever to fill prescriptions, read reports from procedures ordered, etc. I have suffered respiratory issues for four months and was admitted to the hospital. Was ordered a pulmonary function test & an at home sleep study. He took weeks to read the pulmonary function test, and still had not read it. Called & the nurse asked him to read it in between seeing patients. The nurse did not come back to the phone, but the receptionist did stating he said there is nothing wrong with your lungs, your lungs are clear, you just need to lose weight. I told her to let him know how disrespectful and rude he was and that I had lost 63 pounds and counting so that could not be the issue. I’m going to find a physician who cares about his patients and does not humiliate and disrespect patients. Due to him dragging his feet on putting notes and sleep study had to be rescheduled a month out. If he is burnt out, he need to shut his practice down!
Dr. Sporleder is great but his nurses are rude, unprofessional, and snobby. Eliza the “team lead” heads the pack. Allowed to be disrespectful and rude to patients.
Unbelievable. I switched to Dr. Sporleder to use as a primary Dr. because my Dr. moved away. I went in today for a second appointment. Three months ago I fractured my tailbone and have been treated for this for a long time with Shots and Physical Therapy. As soon as he walked in the room he was abrasive and told me that my tailbone was not fractured. He said that he has read the report. I told him that he must be looking at the wrong report. He was verbally abusive and argumentative. I did NOT ask for any pain pills or narcotics yet I was treated like I was lying or something. I know that CRMC is experiencing computer issues and I asked if maybe he had the wrong chart or something. He said no. I just left and have never had such an unprofessional experience with any Dr. Ever.
I did not receive a call or text to remind me of my appointment. I call at 9:10 am. I was told by the receptionists that I can NOT get a medicine refill on my maintenance meds and I will have to reschedule my appointment as the appointment was at 9am. The whole time I am on the phone with them I am walking to my vehicle at the Hyvee next door. I pull in the parking lot of the Dr. Office at 9:12 waiting on the receptionist to put me through to the nurse. The nurse gets on the phone at 9:14 and tells me they only hold appointments for 15 minutes. I can walk up the stairs in that 1 minute. The nurse tells me I need to reschedule as Dr. Sporleder has 3 people waiting ahead of me. If my appointment is at 9am how can there be 3 people waiting ahead of me? So do they double book appointment times? I have always waited at least 35-40 minutes even when I have a 7 am appointment. However the time the Dr. spends with me is never over 15 minutes. Guess they don’t think my time matters only the Dr. I have never been spoken to so rudely by a receptionist and nurse. It was quite obvious my health does not matter to them. Since they work in a Dr. Office they should have the heart to help people not just get a paycheck. I have asked for my records to be moved to another office.
I am a new patient and HE IS GREAT! Down to Earth and takes the time to explain things to you in terms you can understand. He is also straight forward and is honest! Thank you so much for accepting me as a patient!
Patient,energetic,smart,positive.
Absolutely degrading care. I had seen him for many years but had to stop. The last 3 appointments with him I left crying and humiliated. My husband saw him briefly, and Sporleder really gave him the run around. He ran the same blood test 6 times over the course of 7 months and then refused to treat my husband’s low testosterone symptoms at the end of it all. Sporleder also missed my husbands brain tumor, which the next doc found right away after hearing his other symptoms. I regret wasting my time at his clinic when I was younger and nieve.
I have been seeing Dr. Sporleder for many years. The service and quality of care has continued to decrease. I have become frustrated with his lack of knowledge regarding my health issues. He seems more concerned with his ego than with my health. I rarely receive a call to report test results, I am usually left hanging until I call and ask. After 20 years of being a patient, he never remembers ANYTHING when I come in. He frantically scrolls the computer pages to get the info, not a very comforting feeling. He runs from room to room and gives patients very little time, basically he sees too many patients in a day for it to be possible to be thorough. I have a serious, non-curable disease that could have been stopped early on but it was not conveyed to me until it was too late to reverse. This was due to lack of communication from the Dr./Office to me.
The staff are very nice and go out of their way to help. The physicians really talk to you about your health and treatments. My family has been very happy with the care we have received.
Great doctor, always takes time and makes sure you understand about everything that's going on with you medically. Not only him but everyone there is great ill never switch doctors.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
