List of Barry Irving Katz, Md's Reviews
He didn't see anything "operable" so pretty much dismissed my husband. Lack of care and concern. He has a bad choice of words, which makes him come off even more rude. Would definitely look around and not waste your time seeing him unless you're desperate.
Really, Mercy! I DO NOT recommend this man. If I could have given zero stars, I would have. First off, he is the rudest Dr. I've ever been to. He came across as a misogynist; would not let me speak even when he asked ME a question. He completely lacks empathy, concern, and zero bedside manner. He's just a mean, terrible human. He was so rude, I had to ask him to leave. I was done being treated so terribly. He was dismissive from the second he walked through the door and talking down to me from the second he started speaking. He does not care about his patients and that was obvious. I would suggest staying far away from this man's practice. It's a shame that Mercy would allow a person like this to be part of their hospital. He is so far from what they say they stand for. It was unbelievable and I have never met a Dr. who was so rude, belittling, and frankly, just a jerk (and that is being nice). (This was written by my daughter who was too worried to post)
The worse bed side Manner! I could write so much more, but I will keep it short. Do Better!
He is a great, caring doctor. Did a lower back fusion and had no problems after. Thank you.
Very disrespectful. My mother had ask to turn off the translator because I was her care giver and I speak perfectly well English. Dr told me he don’t think I understand terminology good enough to translate. My blood pressure is already rising at this point. Like dude, I’m a college graduate and took many medical terminology classes. Any ways I shook It off, than he repeatedly ask my mother to perform a test that she clearly state it hurts to do, because of her fracture spine. He than straight out said my mother was not cooperative and he won’t see her no more and just told her to get more xray and mri. She already had 2 xray and 1 mri the week before! He also said her movement is not good so she might be paralyze and need to do many brain scan and mri on her full spine. I told him that is her Marni condition. She has arthritis and can’t move much more than that. He never considered her health history or listen to me because I was not the translator. I do not recommend! Plus we will be reporting to the board. He does not act with the patient health in mind.
You know I would have been better of not seeing him the Mri says severe compression on nerves he says means nothing. He is not worth my time or money.
The first meeting, his bedside manner lacked, however as treatment went and he saw how bad my neck and spine was, Dr was sympathetic and caring. He took excellent care of me through all 3 surgeries, giving me his all as a surgeon. I am thankful for his care and support. Give him a chance he is a very good surgeon.
Wouldn’t recommend to ANYONE
I had a ACDF surgery at 2 levels c4-c7. Dr. Katz told me before hand what to expect and what could happen. The surgery took a little over 4 hours and when I woke up I felt as if I hadn't even been cut on, except the majority of the numbness in my fingers was gone. Time will tell, but as of right now I am happy with the surgery and very thankful for the staff whom performed it on me. That is why I give Dr. Katz and his team a 5 star review.
Not a great guy took my husband to see him he needed back surgery dr katz refused ended up taking my husband to dr ipsen in gelina ks amazing infused 3 disk 2 plates 2 rodes and 6 screws you all need to get a real doc In your office that really wants to help people.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
