List of Jenifer Zhai, Md's Reviews
I have been a patient for over 12 years no problem Dr Zhai is blunt and straight forward I respect her
I would NEVER recommend Dr Zhai to anyone. I have a VNS implant for my seizures and I went there to get it charged. My mom had just passed away and she kept wanting to bring it up in conversation. It was unprofessional and rude of her. She also made a comment about how my pills must affect how smart I am. Don’t go to her, don’t have your friends or family go to her. Honestly I question why she’s in the medical field.
I have been a patient of Dr.zhai for over 10 yrs.I need a prior authorization for a med,and she Refuses to call me back
Poor ability to listen, poor insight My father-in-law had an appointment, after waiting 8 months to get in, we were so hopeful that he would receive help in his clear progression of symptoms. Dr. Zhai, however, was dismissive, condescending, curt and actually argumentative with our family's concerns and observations. She declined to order testing for something that had merit and could have been be treated rather than allowed to continue to progress. It seemed that she was more interested in entering into a power struggle rather than concerning herself with his best interest. For all of her training, she seemed to be quite oblivious of family/spouse dynamics that can occur in a situation where dementia exists. This is NOT a doctor who listens to the patients/family's concerns and has no bedside manner or tact. This was so disappointing and the saddest part is that his quality of life hinged on someone like this. It would behoove her to realize that this is a person's life in question - not just merely her own ego.
I have been a patient of Dr. Zhai for Many years and can't get Any asistance in refilling a prescription
I waited 3 months for an appointment, received a letter with instructions and confirming my appointment. Arrived and paid my deductible, and taken to a room to be told I was seeing someone else. I really wanted to see Dr Zhai. I was told she was not taking new patients. They refunded my deductible and voided my appointment so I wasn't asked to review the meeting. I see on this page that she is accepting new patients. I was also told today that specialists are not allowed to deny new patients. I have a call into the patient advocate at Mercy. This upset me a lot. I have been sufferring since mid May. Now have even more symptoms. Maybe she isn't the one I needed to see but I could have been redirected sooner.
I did not l care, Dr. Zhai, the first few times that I met with her but over time I found her to be caring, she answered all my questions.
Dr. Zhai was my wife’s principle caregiver in her struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was more interested in the shoes I wore, and what I did for an occupation, than she was with my wife’s plight. She taunted my wife by repeatedly telling her how “sharp” I was, while she struggled with the loss of self. I had hopes that at the end of this medical assessment, we would receive a prescription for a drug to possibly slow this relentless disease. This would not be the case. The doctor ordered a thyroid test and recommended my wife take a daily low-dose aspirin. Dr. Zhai’s overall demeanor was more a bully than a physician. Five weeks following our initial appointment with this neurologist, we would finally have access to the drugs that could possibly help us. Cultural difference not withstanding, there is no excuse for the behavior we observed and were subjected to.
Very pleased with Dr. Zhai- sent to her by another specialist-for a possible pinched nerve in my neck, but she also assessed me for a low back/sciatica type problem as well. Ordered diagnostic test for both and was patient and not rushed!
I saw Dr. Zhai for MS symptoms. She spent about 10min with me, was in a hurry, and spoke too quickly for me to understand and process. She seemed to base her conclusion on one symptom instead of all of them, thus totally ignoring everything except the one she focused in on. I left the appointment overwhelmed and wondering what just happened. Maybe she's really good for those in her area of specialty, though I'm not sure what that is. She's certainly not good for those who need time to process.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
