Four years ago while visiting my daughter in St. Louis, I had a sudden life threatening heart event. Dr. Axford and his team saved my life. When I returned to my home state, Dr. Axford’s office followed up with my primary care physician not only initially but several weeks later to assure that I was getting the best follow up care. My cardiologist continues to comment on the perfect repair of my mitral valve. I am forever grateful to Dr. Axford as well as the care I received from his fellow surgeons involved with my case.

Dr. Axford performed a triple by-pass procedure on me in 2005 and literally saved my life. I found him to be hard-working, personable, kind, caring, and knowledgeable. I don't know that I'd want to be treated at St. Mary's again, but Dr. Axford is the best.

Dr's Axford and John replaced my Mitral Flap in 11/16/16. They were EXCELLENT folks and I am 100% well. They were caring, concerned and never in a hurry. They even came to see in, the hospital, after I had a small stroke that only effected my speech. I would recommend him to any person who asked me. When I was around friends and family, and mentioned his name, everyone smiled and nothing but a lot of good things to say. Thank for having you and John.

Dr. Axford did my double bypass last month. I highly recommend him not only because he is an excellent surgeon but he is considerate, caring and takes his time to answer any and all questions you may have. Everyone in his facility are the same way! All of them take their time with you and are caring. Thank you to all of them for being so great with me!

Dr. Axford is not very gregarious, this is true, but he saved my mothers life. He and the staff at Saint Mary's were wonderful. Today she in great shape, we owe it to him. I guess I'd rather have a doctor that's not chatty and super friendly, but knows exactly what he needs to do when it comes to valve replacement surgery.

The office staff of very few, are very unfriendly and his (secretary)is as rude as she can be. He is very abrasive and self centered. The whole office including him aren't worth the time it took to see him. The thoracic surgeons I am seeing now are worth the wait.
