Went to see Dr. Jakoi for a back injury. After back surgery was and still am having severe pain where jakoi performed surgery. C.T. scan was ordered to see why Iam having pain. After ten days I got a return call from jakois nurse emily I asked her what were my results from the C.T. scan and she couldnt explain the results saying that my back pain is caused by another issue although my pain is coming from the area of my surgery at this point nurse emily got mad and hung up on me. ( check other reviews that say Jakois nurse got mad ) I am unable to talk to Jakoi he seems to hide behind nurse emily. I have been released by jakois office without any regard to my health or wellbeing. nurse emily did not display courtesy or respect because of her uncontrollable anger and rage even going as far as to slander my good name in other departments of this building. I would stay away from this group if you dont want what happened to me happen to you

Wonderful experience. The whole staff seemed top notch and able to help my leg and back discomfort. Dr. Jakoi shared his experience with my husband and I. He sat down and spoke to us like humans and not lab rats. I am very thankful that my friend, who also happens to be his patient, referred me to him. My last experience with a cold neurosurgeon had me thinking there were no more good doctors in this world. Someone wrote that they thought he walked on water. Well, maybe he is a small gift from the heavens.

First class treatment. Dr. Jakoi treats patients like family. If you are experiencing back issues in the Kansas City area, I highly recommend. Thank you Dr. Jakoi!

If you are in pain, do yourself a favor and go see Dr Jakoi. I read another review complaining that it can take a while to get into his office, but now I know why. He is the best and gets the job done! I had a minimally invasive fusion and I was out of the hospital and back home the following day with only a scar the size of my fingernail. I’m now several months post op and happy to say I’m back living an active lifestyle!

Dr Jakoi is the best orthopedic surgeon period. He took the time to answer all my questions. I never once felt rushed, which I have not had the same experience with others. He continues to monitor my conditions with great interest and care. I'm so glad I found him! Thank you Dr Jakoi.

Dr Jakoi is phenomenal. I was impressed from the moment I stepped into his office. He explained my procedure to me in a way that was easy to understand and answered all of my questions. I felt confident going into my surgery and have never felt better. Highly recommend Dr. Jakoi!

I was experiencing low back and leg pain after a mri confirmed what was wrong I had a meeting with Dr Jakoi where is told me what he could do for me. I had my surgery on 08/24/2021 he did what he said he could do and I have to give him a A+ for what he did for me absolutely no pain anymore. I am currently in rehab and all is going well. After enduring 6 months of extreme lower back/upper thigh pain I was referred to Dr Jakoi. I called January 6 for the appointment and couldn’t get in until April 23. I went in to the walk in clinic and was referred to the pain clinic at NKCH for injections. Injections didn’t work and I finally got in to see Dr Jakoi. He had me get a diagnostic injection to determine if surgery would help my pain. The nurse called with results and said I was a candidate for the surgery. I knew nothing about the surgery and asked if I could see him to discuss it. She acted like she’d never heard of such a request but got me an appointment for the middle of June and said he could do the surgery July 23. By this time I had been in this pain for almost a year, affecting most areas of my life. I ended up consulting with my PCP at St Luke’s, who got me in to a neurosurgeon in May. That surgeon recognized my severe pain and I was in surgery June 7 for a spinal fusion. I was almost 7 weeks post op from a successful spinal fusion before the scheduled surgery date with Dr Jakoi. If a physician is booked so far out that a patient in great need of surgery can’t get in for it in almost 7 months of first calling, that physician is way overbooked. I have heard this and other complaints about this doctor and his not so friendly staff. I will not recommend him.

He doesn't accept self pay.

Dr Jakoi is an attentive and skillful spine surgeon. He takes great care of his patients. I highly recommend him to anyone with either a simple or complex spine condition.
