I had a general question I don’t know how to get into contact with them! I want to know if I can get my medical records? I went to mental health specialist last year…I need documents for SSA! Overall loved them super kind!
A company that employs racist bullies. When you contact the hr department they don’t answer. Seriously some of the team members at this place make your mental health 100x worse.
Beacon Mental Health uses the suicide prevention hotline to tell people to come into the office so they can pretend to provide a service in order to bill insurance (three times in my case) without performing any actual services. I called the suicide prevention line because I was worried about running out of money and ending up on the street. They told me to come in to Beacon. Before I could see anyone, I had to give them my insurance info. I was interviewed by a woman who asked me a bunch of questions and she typed the a answers into their system. It took about 20 minutes. Then she sent me to another woman who asked a bunch of questions and typed my answers them into the system, again for about 20 minutes. When I told her I was worried about ending up on the street, she said, "A lot of people PREFER to live on the street." The 2nd woman told me to come back the next day to talk to Megan (who I thought was the counselor), but Megan asked me a bunch of personal and invasive questions (she wanted to share info with my doctor) and typed my answers into the computer for 45 minutes. Then she said she'd call me when she could find a time to meet with a counselor. Then, half an hour later, she called me and said she doesn't have any counselors to talk to me, and never would. So Medicare is going to get billed by each of the three women for the exact same fake service.

The staff genuinely seem to care and want to help you.
While I never attended any of beacons programs, I did have a call for an assessment. And I am absolutely SHOCKED at the audacity they had to contact my emergency contact immediately following this screening. DO NOT disclose any personal information or what you are struggling with if you do not want your choice to tell others about it taken out of your hands. Even after I asked if everything was confidential and was assured so by a man named Dan, I immediately received a call from my mother stating he had told her everything. I feel incredibly violated and furious. They continually harassed my mother from then on, calling her once more and insisting that I would only get better if I attended one of their specific facilities. When I had the screening call with them, I specifically stated that I was just looking at my options- and that I was not committed to any one program. This company is downright PREDATORY and blatantly sees you as just another check. Please, please do not waste your time. There are plenty of other facilities that truly care.
They never answer the phones. Can't get rescheduled. Waste of time. I've called every week for a month. Some of these people simply need to be fired.
Just wanted to give a big thank you to Nurse Sarah. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to call her since my son has started at Beacon. And she is always so kind and helpful. Also Dr.Pryor is wonderful!!! Thank you guys for all you do!
Just….don’t bother unless you have such a serious mental health issue that you are going to just off yourself. I mean, truly, even then- this place is a joke. Go to the ER. They will act like it’s serious and then tell your 11 year old kid to “get some therapy” if they have suicidal ideations; they are thinking about killing themselves. NBD!!! Come to find out, they even had a plan! But this doctor don’t GAF. He’s “heard it”, I’m sure, from all these privelaged little white kids. Hasn’t he? He definitely knows best. (Why shouldn’t we question a DOCTOR, after all! *huff*) I wrote the doctor a letter, a stamped letter I mailed. It explained how horrible it felt to be dismissed, without any help, and to be judged with such disdain while in his office. Instead of helping us he was simply looking for “holes” in my story. He questioned my 11 year old only with things he wanted to “get clear” and then dismissed us. No help. Even a little chuckle when I asked him, “where can we find a therapist? No one will take us. There is a crazy waiting period.” His reply? “*chuckle* yeah, waiting period is about 6 months”. Please write to the board of psychiatry in Missouri if you have experienced this. We must question these people if we want change in this world. I know I will be writing to them. I hope you do, too.
Don’t bother with this place, they will tell you that they can provide services for you, and then when you show up they tell you to sign up and wait three months. Their alternative suggestion is to take you all across the KC-metro area just to go to an Emergency clinic. Missouri Mental health is a joke.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
