List of Thomas Allen's Reviews
Dr. Thomas Allen is very professional and experienced! He was my physician from 1994-1997 when I moved away from the Kansas City area and then again from 1999 to 2012 when I again moved away from the KC area. He was excellent in treating my complex medical issues!!!!!!!!! Staff was friendly and professional. Dr. Allen also treated my late wife.
Dr. Allen is the best Doctor I've ever had in my adult life. I spent many years trying to find the "right" Doctor. He is it! He is always respectful, responsive, & efficient. Just today, he helped me get caught up on necessary annual exams. Instead of going to 3 different Doctors & locations, he did it ALL in one visit despite my having not scheduled everything for that visit. Seriously so pleased to have found him.
I have been a patient of Dr. Allen for 20 years. He never ceases to amaze me with his up-to-date knowledge. He takes time to explain every option for treatment. When I've needed a specialist, such as a broken wrist, he has referred me to only the highest level of physician in the market. He follows up by sending you a copy of your lab work with any recommendations he has. Why anyone would have another doctor than Thomas Allen is beyond me!
Dr. Allen is a brilliant diagnostician! I hope he never retires because for the last 13 years, he's been my main physician. Besides being very kind, sympathetic, and caring, he has an almost genius level of diagnosing whatever is wrong with you. He's so very perceptive and usually the tests he gives patients only substantiate his opinion. I've referred all of my family and many, many friends to him since 2004. I have to drive 3 hours to his office, but I wouldn't go to any other doctor!
My survey ,good Dr. would recommend.
Michael is one of the best doctors I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He really cares about his patients.
BY FAR, THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD AS A NEW PATIENT TO DATE WITH A INTERNAL MEDICINE DOCTOR. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT AT 3P TODAY WITH THIS DOCTOR BUT THE IRONY IS OTHER PATIENTS WHO ARRIVED AFTER I DID WERE SEEN BY THIS DOCTOR. I ARRIVED ON TIME FOR MY APPOINTMENT AT 2:21P AND I WAITED AN HOUR AND 20 MINS (WELL AFTER MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT TIME).AN NO ONE FROM THE MEDICAL STAFF ACKNOWLEDGED ME IN THE WAITING ROOM TO OFFER AN EXPLANATION AS WHY I AM NOT BEING SEEN BY THIS DOCTOR ON SCHEDULE. NATURALLY I WAS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED AND CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT AND WALKED OUT. I LOST TIME AND MONEY FROM MY JOB HONORING THIS APPOINTMENT THAT NEVER HAPPENED. AND THE RECEPTIONISTS ONLY EXCUSE TO ME WAS "HE LOVES TO TALK" SEEMS TO ME HE DOESN'T REALLY CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT HIMSELF.
The doctor is amazing. My father has gone to him for 20 years+. He noticed during his last physical that his iron level was low. He didn't just throw him on iron. He ordered a full GI test. Because of this they caught colon cancer early! He has been with my family every step of the way. He takes phone calls and is helping him walk through the steps of Chemo. My father had NO SYMPTOMS of colon cancer other than low iron. Thank you Dr Allen for such a gift!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
