felt like a paycheck to him. he was unreasonable and brief. Not really a talk therapist kind of guy. In the twilight of his career, if feels like hes just trying to get a few more bucks before retirement. Employ at your own risk.
Dr. Murphy was recommended by a colleague for my teenage son. Dr. Murphy was very thorough, speaking first to my son and then to myself, my husband and son about options. He explained how each of our available options worked. He managed to simultaneously make us feel taken care of and more in control than we had been in some time. Highly recommended.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Murphy to family and friends. Excellent psychiatrist!!
Stay away!! He saw my husband for a while. We Never missed an appointment. He was ok for a while on meds and didn't need to come in. After several months he needed to go back. He called to make appointment. They made the appointment for 5 weeks later. The day of the appointment they called to tell us the doctor can no longer see him because he had not been in a while. We waited all that time for the appointment for no reason. They waited until the day of, then we're rude and did not apologize.
Dr. Wm. Rory Murphy barely looked at me during any of our sessions. I saw him for about a year. He refused to talk to/educate my husband, accusing me of trying to create a triangle because of my diagnosis. He prescribed me 20 mg of Ambien per night, which was twice (and is now 4x) the recommended dose for a woman. I became highly addicted to it and was passing out all the time and acting weird. He was completely irresponsible and acted like he was highly sedated every time I saw him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
