List of Edward Chun Kuan Chen's Reviews
Dr Chen should not be in practice. He is practicing malpractice and child abuse. My son has strep extremely bad. He has been treated numerous times when he was younger and became immuned to amoxicillin. Because of that he was given augmentin and it would always help. Dr Chen won't give him anything but amoxicillin. He does not care about my child or what's best for him. He would rather he risk an worse infection or death than give him the treatment that works for him. The correct treatment was given to him by a nurse practitioner in his office a month ago. But he can not do the same treatment because he doesn't believe any one but himself. No empathy horrible bed side manner. And Heidi the office manager is a JOKE,!
I had a similar experience as the previous review, Dr. Chen doesn't seem to listen or hear what I'm saying. It feels like he's either too busy to pay attention, or just doesn't know the answers. I'm going to try a different physician to see if I'm more comfortable. I've had pretty good luck with the rest of the office. The nurses and associates are always friendly. I really like the MyMercy portal. ---update. I've downgraded Dr. Chen to 1 star. Dr. Chen apparently didn't like my review. He sent a letter giving me 30 days to find a doctor outside of his office, and stated the reason as being that I did something inappropriate to the staff in the office. Oh Dr. Chen... do better!!!
It's more than 1 visit. I started seeing him as my primary physician 18 months ago and have been trying to switch to another. (once you start working with him, they don't want to switch you to another doctor in the same office). I think he's probably a nice enough person, but he doesn't pay attention. I feel like he either has too many other things on his mind, or he's just arrogant and doesn't think he needs to listen. It's like trying to talk to a brick wall. Thankfully, I've been able to get some help from the nurse practitioner in the office, and I've turned to my chiropractor to answer medical questions. I'm sure he means well, but if you're someone who wants to make informed decisions about your health, I don't recommend Dr. Chen. If you want a doctor to do what he thinks is best and you don't want to talk about it, then he might be a good fit for you.

Doesn’t listen to patients. And not personable.
They always respond to me very quickly when I use MyMercy. I’ve never had a problem getting an appointment and the staff has always been welcoming and friendly
I obtained an appointment for a physical from Dr Chen. I noted my reason for an appointment when I made the appointment and in the online questionnaire they sent prior to my visit. When I appeared for my appointment I was told by the receptionist that Dr. Chen does not perform physicals. Really?? Why does his information online say that he offers preventive care? I am dumbfounded and I am never going back to see him. What a total waste of my time. I will find another physician.
Doctors are great but staff NEVER answers the phone and rarely returns phone calls. Unfortunate for the great doctors that they are losing patients because staff cannot return or answer phone calls. They lost 2 patients today.
Dr Chen is OK but the staff is HORRIBLE. About 50% of the requests they have to authorize arent correct or arent completed in my experience and you can never call the office and get ahold of anyone. Furthermore the staff calls back on voicemails only sometimes. Makes me wonder if the staff could cause a malpractice case against the doctor their service is so bad.
This office is terrible! I have been trying to get in contact with someone to make an appointment and the one time someone called me back they seemed annoyed by me. We like Dr. Chen as a physician but his receptionist and staff need to get it together. They lost 2 patients today! My husband and I need an office that makes us a priority. This office just doesn’t do that!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
