Rebecca Marie Brandsted's Online Review Report Card

The worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor was with Dr Rebecca Brandsted. Not only did she raise her voice at me and speak to me like I did not have a brain but she maniacally laughed at my not trivial worry. I was in disbelief that I had such an interaction with a physician, it was so awful. She was not my ENT, but I was connected with her via the exchange at Sound Health Services. If you value bedside manner or being taken seriously by the doctor/group that you are paying for (!!!) then find a different ENT office. There are so many better offices and doctors in the stl area, you don’t need to settle for subpar care.

I was treated by Dr Brandstead for several years for hearing loss. When I developed thyroid issues and a large growth (which was cancerous), she and her office seemed at a loss as to how or where to send me for diagnosis and imaging. Thankfully I contacted a more proactive practice at another hospital system.

Dr. Bransted has proven over the years to be a thorough, reasonable physician. She listens, concludes, presents a diagnosis, and then discusses the treatment options. With Informed Consent, I then am an active participant in my treatment plan. I am very thankful she is on my team!

It's been aout three years since I have last seen Dr. Brandsted because last time she placed T tubes in my ears for bilateral myringotomy with tube insertion. It has been wonderful being able to hear clearly again and not have fluid in my ears. Since that time, I am in need of having tubes placed again as I am having the same condition. I will not hesitate to contact her. She is the best

The staff is not friendly or helpful. Dr. Brandsted is one of the coldest people I've ever met. No bedside manner at all. I'm going back for my third visit to correct the same problem. If it's not resolved this time I'm moving on. I don't need my ear to bleed again.

Dr. Bransted is very knowledgeable and explains procedures. Her staff was very accommodating. She is professional and business like and I appreciate that.

I was referred to another ENT in her office but the wait for that Dr. was long, so I made an appt. with her instead. I have diagnosed chronic sinusitis and was going for cause diagnostics and treatment. She looked inside my sinuses and said I didn’t have a sinus infection. Wait! What!?! How did I have a sinus infection just days prior that needed antibiotic treatment? As I told her and her staff, ...

I was referred to another ENT in her office but the wait for that Dr. was long, so I made an appt. with her instead. I have diagnosed chronic sinusitis and was going for cause diagnostics and treatment. She looked inside my sinuses and said I didn’t have a sinus infection. Wait! What!?! How did I have a sinus infection just days prior that needed antibiotic treatment? As I told her and her staff, I didn’t take the antibiotics prescribed by the PCP, because the appointment was so close; I didn’t want to start a treatment that might need to be changed after seeing her. The only thing she prescribed was a med for acid reflux for what is very clearly chronic sinusitis. This has been diagnosed by multiple doctors. She said to learn more she’d have to do a CT scan in her other office, so I would need to wait two weeks for a SECOND appt.. A day before the 2nd appt., I get a voicemail that it was canceled because the insurance denied the CT scan. They’d speak with them?? Never again!

I believe Dr. Brandsted was dismissive of my explanation of my symptoms, provided me with an inaccurate and absurd diagnosis, and failed to review important available information completely and carefully. She became defensive when I asked her to further explain her diagnosis and appeared to simply ignore relevant information. I have since received a diagnosis which aligns with my symptoms and the answers I was needing. I am distressed that she is allowed to provide patient care and that people and insurance companies are paying her to provide such poor, uninformed, and careless service in such an important field. A disagreeable or unexpected diagnosis is one thing, a diagnosis that ignores information and common sense is problematic, to say the least.

Not very thorough or caring, said to me to be concise as I explained my health issue. To make matters worse, she gave me a prescription for a drug that is known to aggravate the main health issue I was dealing with to treat a minor issue.
