My complaint is not about Dr. Mazzella’s medical care or proficiency. However, the doctor’s assistant was not vaccinated for COVID-19. When I asked the doctor why, I received a rude lecture regarding the science about risks of transmission and an additional rudely given “lesson” about how it’s not a law. This is a cardiologist’s office. I’m very disappointed that HCA Midwest doesn’t require medical personnel to be vaccinated. I’m additionally disappointed in the manner in which I was treated. He said they don’t care how I feel about the lack of a vaccination. All this in a state that is seeing a rapid increase in COVID-19/ Delta variant. Appalling.

This is the epitome of health care. Before I arrived the staff I dealt with were aware of my needs, anticipated my questions before I asked them and guided me through the process. My visit was brief, thorough and a pleasure. Would that everyone could have such care from such caring health care professionals. Nobody wants to have the need for medical care, but if you must, this is the team I want on my side. These are heroes!

Pleasantly surprised and at ease with doc. First time seen by cardiologist at age 71. Spoke plainly in terms understood. Has nice demeanor and feel confident in his abilities. Will be seeing him again and hopeful he will be successful with diagnosis.

I have been going to Mazella for about 6 years now and he is great, his appointments are on time, has a pleasant personality, and is very thorough in his examinations, tests, explanations, I would highly recommend him as a good cardiolgist.
