I should have seen a sleep neurologist instead. Perhaps he's great with lungs, but lacks understanding that there's more than one neurotype. On my chart with ADHD clearly at the top as a diagnosis on file, he wrote "supposedly has ADHD" as if I don't fit the stereotype in his notes. Also, he commented that he didn't believe one can think so much that it prevents them from sleeping; I can't imagine having a life privelged enough to take this stance. Professionalism aside, you visit doctors in hopes of improving your life. Even if his assessment that my sleep is somehow normal, despite my chronic daytime tiredness, there should still be a referral rather than a dead end. Whether a therapist, neurologist, or another field of study; anything would be better than suggesting to sleep more during night and less during day. It's well established that IH can take 10-15 years from onset to diagnose, I'm now understanding why. I'm exhausted daily, and hope to someday not wake up in a fog.

I hope you read this because dr Leo Cokington saved my life! In 1969 I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I was 11 years old and not only me but my family new nothing about diabetes. If it had not been for him I would NOT be alive and well now at age 62. I just heard he passed away last year and am very sorry to hear that. He was a great doctor and a great human!

the waiting room is clean and the staff always have a smile on and greats you when you walk in. all the rooms are clean and the bathrooms are clean also
