Great staff that cares. Dr. Bailey. Straight to the point..nice appointment.
Back in 2017 I went to Dr. Bailey for my knee, due to dislocating my knee cap multiple times. (patella) I agreed to surgery because it was only a matter of time before it would dislocate again. (It was a simple inner scope surgery nothing major) I was told with surgery I wouldn’t have anymore issues with that knee dislocating. After the surgery I was told I my recovery time would only be a month and I needed NO physical therapy. For at least a year I experienced pain in that knee, I couldn’t run, jump, or kick, without pain spreading throughout my knee that I never experienced before. Four years later, after being finally comfortable and confident with this knee, I have just recently re-dislocated it once again. Please do not make my mistake, and see someone else!!
On January 8th 2019 I fell and shattered my left knee-my knee was totally shattered and the local paramedics instantly got to me... started an IV with medication and an EKG taking me directly to NRMC in Kirksville radioing ahead for an Orthopedic Surgeon to meet me in the ER. Dr. Bailey was there and after talking to the ambulance crew and doing a CAT SCAN took me into emergency surgery having to take out the shattered bones, putting in a metal knee replacement with cement making a upper portion of my lower leg bone and attaching the tendons I tore... this almost a 6 hour surgery saving my leg. I spent 12 days in the hospital and was released back home with limited movement and exercises on a walker. I can't say enough about how his caring and on top of things he's been for over a year. Yes I'm still seeing him as it's still healing and looking at an outpatient surgery to help with more mobility... which will be a piece of cake compared to the original nightmare surgery. His staff are wonderful and he is very on top of my situation by doing various outpatient dopplers, CAT SCANS and Xrays because he wants me totally healed tissue wise before he will do an outpatient mobility procedure. All I can say is that Dr. Bailey saved my leg when it could have been amputated at the time. So after over a year I continue do do exactly as he says as the tissue is still healing (the damage was that severe) and I am very grateful to him for saving my leg. I don't get physical therapy from my insurance so it's me and him on this journey to being able to walk again. I highly recommend Dr. Bailey even if it's for a consultation as he is honest with you and will do the necessary testing to find everything out. I personally have thanked him for everything as I knew when I was going into emergency surgery I'd probably not have my leg but no he saved it! After over a year seeing him he still recalls me being brought into the ER and the surgery he had to perform. Dr. Bailey personally told me he took an oath to save lives and he was going to save my leg. Yes it's been a long journey yet he's always there for me whether it's a phone call to talk or an appointment because he's very attentive, concerned and always listens to me along with checking out my progress. So a big shout out to Dr. Bailey and his team for saving my leg and reconstructing my knee as it could have been so much worse. Coann Childers
this is the second hip replacement i have had. the first was 11 years ago. and Dr. Bailey did a wonderful job, my recovery time was faster and the pain was much less. his staff were wonderfully polite and did there jobs good. i would like to thank Dr. Bailey and his staff.
Staff is exceptionally helpful and positive. Dr. Bailey has repeatedly been there for me when in need. Considering those times were times of extreme pain and discomfort I cannot say enough positive about the man.
I fell and broke my wrist and fractured my hand in May. I was in a lot of pain. Had surgery with a plate, pins, and bone grafts. Am in the middle of healing, but so far they are helping me manage the pain. The nurses and office personnel are sweethearts! And I love Dr Bailey. His dry humor makes me laugh and he does what is best for the patient. So far, he has been an excellent doctor and this is my first experience with him.
I have seen Dr. Bailey for many years and he is always very thorough in his assessment of what is happening. He has performed more than one surgery on me (as I am unfortunately falling apart LOL) and the results are always good. I have had carpal tunnel surgery, shoulder surgery, total knee replacement done and trust him and his staff. The office staff is very personable and treats me with the utmost respect.
He is an ok doctor
Dr Bailey performed a total hip arthroplasty on my husband and he is doing amazing. Very pleased with his care and progress.
My husband was in a motorcycle accident which required surgery on his ankle. Three years later he's in constant pain and walks with his foot pointed outward. He was laid up for 9 months. Now he needs fusion surgery or an amputation. I would NOT recommend him! He even left a staple I my husband's ankle! There was no physical therapy or anything. Do not see Dr. Bailey.
Went to Dr. Bailey for almost a year with level 4-5 back pain. Went month after month to office visits, and being diagnosed with Spinal stenosis, rib neuropathy, degenerative disk disease, sacroilitis, and lumbro sacroilitis. The only pain medication he would prescribe was not working. Tried to give back for something different and was denied, being told they couldn't take medication back. 9 months later he finally offers spinal injections and nerve blocks. 1 week later after injections failed and pain lvl at a 10, I called his office pleading and in tears for something to take the pain away till I could get back in to see him asap . I was ignored and never got a call back. Over a thousand dollars spent on his consultations and unable to walk and I was ignored!! I was at the point to where my husband had to help me everywhere I went. I called a pain managment doctor from Columbia who got me in right away. With just 1 office visit and an MRI review, gave me 1 spinal shot that finally gave me much needed relief. 1 shot every 3 months with no opioids prescribed, I'm almost good as new. Kirksville needs a good orthopedic doctor who cares about the patient. Currently none there.
Went to Dr Bailey for fractured arm. He didn't even take the brace off that the ED put on. He told me the cast ED put on was overkill, to get ace wrap from drug store, or if I felt better, get a wrist brace. The pharmacist saw my arm and suggested I go to Columbia MO for second opinion. I did; my arm was in a cast next day. Second Dr did full assessment of my arm, and asked about my daily activities. Still getting follow up care. Dr Bailey did nothing except charge me. Save yourself! Go to CoMo
Have been seeing dr. Bailey for 12 years. He has always helped me with my pain management and did an excellent job on putting the rods and screws in my lower back. He and his office staff is always there for me in a pinch. I would say that anyone he can't help is not willing to help themselves or is trying to drug seek. The best dr I have ever been to and he seems to care about more than just my back pain when diagnosing something.
Dedicated to providing quality care, without bias. He is willing to take time to understand a patient's emotional need (fear) as well as the physical need for surgery. I know he has performed successful surgeries for patients, that other doctors were not willing to even try.
Dr. Bailey did a wonderful job on me. I had seen 2 other doctors regarding a not I had on my lower back, toward the spin, and none of them said what it was or that they could even help me. I was told by a family member to check with Dr. Bailey, so I went to see him and he ended up helping me by doing surgery to remove the mass. He was very kind at the appointments and came out after the procedure and talked with my family. I have not had anymore pain.
