He seemed nice and likely is overall a good ENT doctor. BUT I can tell he is old school as far as the parathyroid workup and surgery goes. I recommend you google best Parathyroid surgeons in country (HINT: Tampa Florida location) if you have Hyperparathyroidism (ie too much PTH and calcium on high or high side and maybe low Vitamin D levels). ASK your doctor a LOT of questions and do own research before you do tests and surgery as you may end up redoing surgery if you have more than one tumor. NOT knocking this doctor, just trying to help others in similar shoes to my own.

I had multiple appointments at this office followed by surgery done by Dr Showmaker This office communicates quickly and accurately by text. This was extremely helpful!!! The staff and doctor are above any office I have ever dealt with

Dr. Showmaker and staff at his Merriam office, the ASC, are all top notch! I highly recommend them, and Dr. Showmaker is the best. He is very personable, takes interest in his patients and is very down to earth; not to mention an excellent surgeon, very knowledgeable and highly skilled.

Dr Showmker recently took care of a thyroid issue for me. From start to finish he was knowledgeable, kind, and caring. He does thyroid ultrasounds and biopsies himself in the office, so no need to run around and get them done. He also does thyroid RFA which can spare patients who qualify a thyroid surgery. I recommend him highly for any ENT problem.

Writing a review (specifically regarding my medical experience) is uncomfortably revealing for me, however, in appreciation of Dr. Showmaker, I felt it necessary. Dr. Showmaker was very thorough during my visits and provided referrals for services outside of his scope of work rather than dismissing my concerns. We found some resolve and I felt listened to throughout each visit. He is aware, considerate, and culturally sensitive to societal woes that may impact your health and his calm presence is also beneficial and reassuring for those who may be anxious about their wellbeing. There was a brief wait period (approx. five minutes after check-in) during each visit and his supporting staff were kind and professional.

Couldn’t ask for a better doc. He had great bedside manor and made me feel comfortable. Surgery went so smoothly, and so did follow up. I’m sending my husband to him, and a co-worker also sees him and had surgery and was more than pleased! Thank you To the doc and his wonderful staff!

The office is really nice and up to date, staff is great and Dr Showmaker and his NP Andrea are the best!! 100% worth the travel for us to see him for a second opinion.

Dr. Shoemaker came highly Recommended and I can see why. The staff was very welcoming! The doctor was very thorough, patient and helpful in diagnosing my teenager with his chronic sinus issues. Great experience!!
