List of Margaretta Lynn Mendenhall's Reviews
I cannot express enough how much trust I have in Dr. Mendenhall. You just know she takes the responsibility of your care with the utmost reverence. She is knowledgeable and always willing to answer a question or five!!
What a gift Dr. Mendenhall is to her patients! I so appreciate her professionalism, kindness and compassion. She has helped me so much by patiently listening and encouraging me in my heath. She truly reflects the Mercy values.

Every time I was in the office I felt very judged. I would schedule appointments because some things didn’t feel normal and then I always felt dumb when I’d explain my symptoms the the Dr. I’m giving two stars instead of one because the waiting room staff and nurses were always kind.
I had recently moved to the area and discovered I was pregnant with my 4th child. After researching many OBGYN Drs, I made an appointment with Dr. Mendenhall. She was, by far, my favorite OBGYN out of all 4 of my kids. She was very professional, friendly and any time I had a concern, she knew exactly the problem. I had the most complications with this pregnancy and she was always quick to have tests done to resolve/rule out. I like that she was straight to the point with me. She also called me (on a day I know she was out of the office) to let me know of a test result and that she ordered meds as she knew I was heading out of state for a few weeks. I wish I could have her as a family practice Dr because I would take my whole family to see her! She didn't end up delivering my baby, but the Dr who did (also at her office) was awesome too!
Dr Mendenhall was a physician recommended by my pcp. I’m not from stl, and saw she has great reviews so I was excited to finally have a great obgyn. Wow, was I wrong. There’s many instances where she is so inappropriate or lacked the compassion for a working pregnant person. Being with her throughout my whole pregnancy, I thought she would eventually show so kind of feeling/kindness, and was disappointed all the way to the end of my pregnancy. Her other colleagues are great, but definitely try to avoid her. Not sure how she got the great reviews that I saw on Mercy. I’m suspecting those are paid to get people in to see her since her real reviews are absolutely terrible.
I cannot express enough how degrading, inappropriate, and insensitive this Dr is. I was a patient for nearly 4 years and experienced a miscarriage at 16 wks while in her care. In the aftermath of this tragic event she ignored my messages asking for the test results to be explained in more detail, as they were released on My Mercy. And then proceeded to finally respond with a phone call a week later lecturing me and telling me "this isn't going to bring your baby back!", blaming my mental illnesses for my reaction (which was simply asking for my test results to be explained), and backing her nurse who was beyond rude to me, the nurse stated in a phone conversation "I wouldn't know what testing was done. I wasn't in the delivery room." This all seemed very fishy to me. Almost a year later I sincerly believe they were hiding something and/ or testing that was promised to me was never done. Stay away! Very unprofessional!
If I could give no stars I would. I was a patient of Dr.Mendenhall's for around four years, and had the utmost respect for her, even referring several family members to her. Unfortunately, I have had two miscarriages; one at 10 weeks a few years ago, and recently we lost our baby boy when I was 16 weeks pregnant. After I delivered genetic testing was conducted and I received the chromosomal analysis results via MyMercy. No personal touch at all, no phone call, and even the message attached to the test results by the nurse were brief and unexplained. I reached out that same day and called the office speaking to her nurse who was unable to give me any details stating "I wasn't in the delivery room, so I wouldn't know what testing was done." After this conversation I reached out to the Dr. A few days later via MyMercy thinking maybe she was unaware of the situation and again looking for answers. Over a week later she personally called me only to give me a very condescending lecture. Even going as far as saying "This won't bring your baby back." And "You just weren't happy with the test results." Which I didn't understand, because they were normal results I simply wanted them explained to me. Then she proceeded to argue with me that the nurse did call me first and was unable to reach me so that's when she went ahead and released the results online. Which is a bold face lie, because I had no missed call and no voicemail. I even looked back on my phone records, because she had me doubting myself. She even threw my mental illnesses in my face stating that I'm in the angry stage of my grieving process and "lashing out" which concerned her because of my history of anxiety and depression. This was obviously meant to belittle me because there was no sympathy or compassion in her voice only anger. I found out during this conversation that she was the one that told the nurse not to respond to my first MyMercy message. And when I told her about the nurse's rude comment when she said "I wasn't in the delivery room so I wouldn't know what testing was done" her response was "yes and that's what she should have said." I have never in my life been so mistreated and during the worst days of my life, after losing a child. Needless to say for me it's time to find a new doctor. When a person becomes so hardened to the emotional part of their job it's time to find a new occupation, because it's the patients that suffer.
She is a very good person!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
