List of Washington University Childrens After Hours- Ofallon's Reviews
I’m surprised at several negative comments. We’ve been here many times (why do illnesses seem to always hit nights and weekends?!) and always have great care. The NPs are always great with kids and we’re in and out quickly. I don’t think we’ve ever been there more than an hour tops. Definitely recommend making an appt. online before going in though. Sure beats waiting for the peds office to open on Monday when you have a kiddo with a suspected ear infection etc.
We had a great experience there. However, they are trying to bill us 300 dollars. I explained that this is not an ER but an urgent care and we have co pays. On the bill they even charged us for being a “new patient”. My insurance company did not even have this claim in their system and are now working with them to straighten this out. Alway check the bill. We will never use them again! And we were seen in November and didn’t see a bill until the end of May!!
The doctors here are great and caring, however it is impossible to get through to anyone over the telephone at this location. To schedule an appointment you have to literally drive to the location, approach the desk on the second floor, and schedule an appointment in person. The phone lines are always backed up with over 15-20 minute hold times.
Our experience was okay. Giving 3 stars only because the receptionist was horrible. She questioned why we were bringing our daughter with asthma in and then proceeded to tell us she didn't “look” like she needed to be seen. I'm sorry what? We don't just take our kids in for fun.
We had a wonderful experience here today. I came in with my one year old son who felt miserable. We walked in without an appointment, we got checked in right away, everybody was very friendly, we were in the room right away and nurse Connie, I believe, was absolutely the sweetest nurse ever! She did great with my son and she was very gentle and caring. We saw Nurse practitioner Stacy and she was absolutely amazing as well! They both made sure that my son got the best care and necessary tests. They were caring and very sweet and helpful! All of the staff went above and beyond and they also helped me with the stroller on the way out all the way to my car since my son was sleeping in my arms. I will be taking my baby there from now on if he needs urgent care. Definitely much better experience than we had in a different hospital’s emergency room.
Trish at the front was so sweet and fit us in at 7:15pm last night when we weren't aware we could make appointments. Sherre made my kids feel so loved and happy about their strep test, checking all their vitals and made them laugh. Dr Stacy was so quick to see us (within 20 min of checking us in, getting strep test, and vitals) and was so nice to calm all of my concerns and just gave us the best experience! I hope I spelled all your names correctly! Thank you for all you do and the convenience of your hours!
Amy could not have been nicer or more patient with our girl. She took great care of us, offered wonderful advice, and never made us feel like a burden despite our arriving just 30 minutes before closing time. We are so grateful for the care our baby girl received.
Walked in at 6:15 pm. They close at 7. It’s Christmas Eve. They said they have 1 respiratory case and it’s going to take them into the time they close. No other children in the building that we could see but turned my son away who is 1.5 years old. He has a scratchy throat and a 102.5 fever. No care for us at all or that we needed a quick swab and possibly antibiotics before we see family for Christmas tomorrow. I just feel so bad for my little guy and feel ashamed that this place would turn a little sick boy away 45 mins before closing on Christmas Eve. Everywhere is closed tomorrow. As we were driving away we could see the doctor chatting with the receptionist and watching us drive away. Again, did not see any other patients. Very hesitant to rerun in the future. Hoping we don’t end up in the ER tonight.
From the moment my wife and I walked in with our 18-month old daughter we were met with hostility by the receptionist. Of course we immediately got the "wear a mask" shout before we got both feet in the door. The receptionist then interrogated me about my daughter's symptoms like she had me under suspicion for distributing fentanyl. I was perplexed and though I was speaking to the doctor but no; I was speaking with a 60-year-old GED receptionist that didn't realize her job responsibilities stopped at getting patients in and out of the door. After wasting more of my time, I was then met with a "you'll have to wait until 8:40," which was 3 hours later, and the lobby was completely empty. Truthfully, we have received better all-around healthcare service in a third-world country.
Walked in even though they showed full online on 11/25. Was tured away and told to make a reservation as soon as the system opens up again. Was told system opens up 12 hours before clinic opens to book a reservation for next day. Set alarm for 12 hours before to wake up and book online at 12am. System was not open to book right at 12am… or even 12:20am. Who knew when it would open? Set another alarm for 4am and by that time only 2 slots remained at the South country location. Booked a 4:20p for 11/26. When I got here they were triple booked at that time. Plus, as we we’re waiting they allowed walk ins that got unofficially seen by NPs ahead of us to assess if they needed to come back at their slot. Or could be squeezed in. Also while waiting I saw others walk in and turned away because they were too full. They need to optimize this process and have a consistent message for everyone. Yes we take walk in’s. But not always.. they don’t if they are too full. They need a way to publicly alert if walk ins are currently being taken. They don’t do this. If they don’t take walk ins, that needs to be updated online immediately so people don’t waste time trying to be seen as a walk in. If system opens 12 hours ahead, it needs to open at exactly that time. A computer runs this registrations process, likely not a person. Overall…I wouldn’t recommend unless there’s no other option.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
