Cancelled appointment that I made months out without telling me

After being a patient here for many years, I was shocked to receive a text message canceling my appointment without any effort to reschedule me with another provider, including Dr. Dilworth. When I immediately called the office, my calls were repeatedly answered with silence… someone was on the line breathing but not speaking. When I finally reached someone, I was told that Dr. Dilworth “cannot take on Erin Yoffie’s patients.” That explanation makes little sense, as Dr. Dilworth was actually the dermatologist I originally established care with when I first became a patient at Deluxe Dermatology. I was only scheduling with Erin because her appointments were easier to obtain, not because she was my exclusive provider. The staff member I spoke with showed no interest in looking into my history or exploring any options. As someone with severe eczema who needs ongoing dermatologic care, being abruptly dropped like this is incredibly frustrating. It’s also not easy to establish care with a new dermatologist, especially on short notice. At a minimum, I would have expected the office to offer an appointment with Dr. Dilworth several months out, place me on a waitlist, or explain that a replacement for Erin was in the process of being hired and that someone would contact me to reschedule. Instead, I was simply left without care. This is a disappointing way to treat a long-term patient, and it reflects poorly on the practice’s commitment to continuity of care. Do better.

They are horrible. Scheduled first appointment two months ago, they cancelled and rescheduled via text. Today I got text message canceling the new appointment because " no longer accepting new clients". Phone call would have been more professional and more accepting. I hope they treat current clients better.

I always have an excellent experience at this office. Dr. Dilworth is very knowledgeable and personable. All of the staff members are pleasant as well. I highly recommend this practice for anyone looking for a dermatologist!!
