Knowledgeable, compassionate, calming bedside manner. Says things like, "If you were my sister, this is what I'd tell you." Wouldn't go to anyone else. He is literally the best.

Great doctor with a super personality! Highly recommend!

AMAZING!! After a horrible experience with another OBGYN at Phelps this man has given me faith in medicine. His bedside manner is out of this world. He's kind and compassionate. He answered every question I had directly and didn't sidetrack to avoid answering. He made sure I felt comfortable at every encounter and encouraged me to ask questions and get in contact with any concerns. Unfortunately he does not do Obsetrics anymore but he does gynecological. I'll be using him for I hope many years to come.

Caring and Intuitive Doctor After struggling with severe anemia for several months, I made the decision to have alaparoscopic hysterectomy in December. It was not a decision I took lightly, and my surgeon,Dr. Nathan Ratchford, was extremely thorough in educating me on my different options. Hedidn't push me in a certain direction, but rather let me, the patient, make the best decision for me. On the day of my surgery, he was calm and reassuring; I appreciate his kind bedsidemanner, as I was understandably nervous. He joked around with Mary, my pre-op nurse, andshe assured me I was in great hands. I am now 6 weeks out and recovering well. Dr. Ratchfordwas very thorough at my post-op appointment, as well. He never acts rushed or hurried, which I really appreciate. I'm looking forward to an improved quality of life. Thank you, Dr. Ratchford!

I had a very positive experience with Dr. Ratchford. He was extremely attentive and spent a long time explaining treatment options and answering my questions. He went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and heard. The exam he performed was quick and gentle. It’s rare to find a caring and knowledgeable professional of his caliber, and I feel like our community is fortunate to have him.

Searching for answers Went to Dr Ratchford because of issues of reoccurring anemia due to heavy menstruation. He was very patient with answering questions and concerns. I like a doctor that listens, he’s very good at that. Then he gave me options and was very thorough in explaining them. He listened to why I didn’t want certain options he was presenting and didn’t get his feathers ruffled about that, realizing it wasn’t personal towards him. After that he said that I could get back with him and just let him know what I would like to do. This is exactly how physicians should treat patients.

Dr. Ratchford performed my surgery. He listened to my concerns and addressed them all. He took as much time as I needed during my appointments. My surgery went great! During post op, his office was very responsive. They answered any and all questions. I highly recommend Dr. Ratchford. I wouldn't go to anyone else.

I was visiting my son who is stationed at Fort Leonard Wood and had to have emergency surgery for an ovarian torsion. Dr Ratchford was amazing! He took the time to explain everything, notify my family and did an excellent job in the operation. I am very thankful that he was the one there to help me in this out of town emergency! The entire staff that evening and next day at Phelps were great! Appreciate them all during this very unexpected event!

Dr. Ratchford is my new OBGYN and is amazing! He is funny, communicative and is always upfront and transparent. I had a recent surgery and he made sure to round over to me, answered my questions and made me feel comfortable and safe the entire time. I would reccomend him to anyone!
