Had a 8:40 am appointment. Arrived 15 minutes late because of traffic and expected to wait but instead receptionist told me Dr. Huss couldn't see me today. Professional??

Terrible doctor, my parents are his patients and he has misdiagnosed my dads Parkinson’s disease for the “ tremors”. He will never refer them to specialist they need, even got ride with my father for seeing a dr that was not affiliated with mercy.

I enjoyed my appointments with Dr. Huss. He has helped me out of a jam, twice now. I will include him in my bedtime prayers. Thank you Dr. Huss God bless you!

Excellent physician, have been seeing him for maybe 25 years or more. Good communicator, compassionate, knowledgeable.

Negligent. Do not take your loved ones to this joke of a doctor. UPDATE After seeking medical guidance from Dr. Huss in late 2017, my father passed away last June. I have since had some time to collect my thoughts to provide a better, less emotional explanation as to why Dr. Huss failed in helping my father. My motivation in leaving this review is to help others make a better choice in choosing a medical professional for their loved ones. In the fall of 2017, my father began experiencing severe gastrointestinal symptoms. In 3 months, he had lost over 50 pounds and was finding it increasingly difficult to eat and was also experiencing persistent diarrhea. After pleading with him to see a doctor (my father was pretty old school in his thoughts about what justified a doctor’s visit), he sought help from Dr. Huss. While I expected Dr. Huss would have reacted with some sense of urgency to my father’s rapidly deteriorating condition, the extent of Dr. Huss’s interest in and diagnosis of my father’s condition was limited to a litany of tests, each with week or longer turnaround. I am unsure how many times my father made appointments with Dr. Huss, but it was at least three times, each with yet another battery of testing. In November, 6 weeks after my father’s first appointment, Dr. Huss gave my family the assurance that the tests showed nothing was wrong. Dr. Huss said he had holiday plans through the end of the year and instructed my father to make a follow up appointment in February. My father grew sicker and sicker, down 100 pounds and losing more stamina as the days passed. Despite Dr. Huss’s assurance that nothing was wrong, my father knew he would not live much longer without medical help. Shortly after Dr. Huss’s “clean bill of health” diagnosis, my father visited the Phelps County Regional Medical Center’s ER and pleaded for help. The nurses who examined him immediately knew there was something very wrong. After a scan administered by the ER, my family learned my father had a large mass in the juncture between his esophagus and stomach. It had not yet been confirmed the esophageal cancer was in stage IV, but finally, immediate and aggressive treatment was planned. When the staff at PCRMC finished their examination my now frail father was beside himself in tears, not because he was afraid, but because someone was finally trying to help him. My father fought the cancer battle - going through a brutal regimen of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I have no doubt that had he not visited the ER, he would have been dead by February. I’m thankful for the extra few months we were afforded with him to say our goodbyes. No one will ever know if Dr. Huss had taken my father’s symptoms more seriously or sought more effective testing (such as the scans) whether or not he would have lived longer or reached remission. All I know as a non-medically trainer person is that the earlier cancer is detected, the better chance of effective treatment. I also know that doctors who listen to and express empathy for their patients provide better care than those who do not. My father was 72 when he passed. He left behind 3 grandsons under the age of 6 who were a delight in his life. I know he would have really enjoyed watching them grow. As for my sister and I, we miss his love and guidance and can’t help but feel he went before his time.

dr. huss spends time with you and has helped me so much! very kind,caring and funny to boot! i feel so much better after switching to him....he found my problem in no time! my quality of life is greatly improved thanks to dr. huss!

Dr Huss of Rolla might be a well trained doctor but he failed me. I was suffering with a bout of diverticulitis and sent him an email asking him to fax a prescription to CVS. I have had 15 or so bouts with this in the last 20 years as my file shows. I suffered 4 days waiting for a response. I got a response only after I complained to the Springfield office. This is completely inexcusable. He then insulted my intelligence by telling me I may not know if I had diverticulitis. After 15 bout

Always listens to what you have to say and explains everything in language anyone can understand. Highly recommend.
