List of Gregory W. Mattingly's Reviews
My three kids have been seeing Dr Mattingly for 7+ years and he and his staff are fantastic! He is extremely knowledgeable and does a great job of customizing treatment based on each child’s individual needs. His staff does a great job of helping coordinate and I have had a great experience with the other doctors, NPs and staff at his offices. Highly recommended.
He is constantly canceling or just not even showing up to appointments. It’s like he doesn’t even care about his patients. I had an over the phone appointment with him that was scheduled for a few months and he never called. This isn’t even the first time it’s happened. It’s constantly. If I actually do get a call letting me know he’s canceled, it’s always right before the appointment. I understand doctors have emergencies, but when he has canceled more times than I’ve seen him, there’s a problem. When I’m able to see him, the visit lasts 10 minutes maximum. It’s just “how are you feeling?” “I’m actually doing really bad dr,” “okay well you’ve been on this medication for 4 years and it usually takes your body 5 years to get adjusted to it, so I’ll just keep you on this prescription and we’ll check in next year”
Right now I’m giving this review hopefully they will improve. I am getting fed up. It been months since my son had been seen in person. I know about covid but this is getting ridiculous. First we almost lost our guardianship of our son because Dr.Mattenly mistakenly wrote a letter saying Dylan didn’t need it anymore. He said he thought we requested it. We didn’t because our son would not willing take the meds he needs. Even though he wrote a correction letter we still had to go to court. Good thing we didn’t hire a lawyer because that would have cost us. Then were told we have to have a video appointment. That was scheduled for last Friday at 3:45. Thursday I get a call saying it was rescheduled for 3. So for 2:45 until 4 my son set on the computer waiting for that appointment to start. It never happened. I send an email asking what happened.I thought they would call me Monday. No I call them twice. Couldn’t get though no where to leave a voice message.Other than submitting this I don’t know how to even contact them. Are we suppose to think we’re import to them?
Not impressed with my experience with Dr. Mattingly the last few years. I meet with him (or at least try to) at least once a year, but each and EVERY time I schedule an appointment 2-3 months ahead of time, a WEEK before the appointment, it gets canceled. When I speak with someone to reschedule, I have to wait ANOTHER 2-3 months. To top it off, the wait time is sometimes about an hour after my scheduled time and when he finally meets with me, the appointment takes 5 minutes and he spends 4 of those minutes just writing his notes. I don't feel as I benefit at all from his meetings and I've been trying to look elsewhere for a new Psychiatrist.
Overprescribed medication and did not listen to patient or family concerns.
I feel he is a decent doctor but he is very hard to get in touch with. He’s the only one who can help (tried in past to talk to other doctor in the office - no go) but doesn’t offer an exchange number or any kind of messaging system to get in touch with him. So if he’s out of the office, you’re out of luck. The office staff isn’t the greatest either. I sat on hold (2nd caller) for 20 minutes, then 1st caller for 30 minutes and finally gave up. And it’s not even their lunch hour yet. They might have been closed but the message system didn’t note that. With COVID and how it’s affecting peoples’ mental health, you’d think they’d be open longer than 4 hours a day.
Always cancels appointments with his patients. I do not recommend him.
Dr. Mattingly is an AWESOME doctor who has a LOT of experience and is very kind and compassionate. He was my doc for over 15 years before I had to change doctors due to my insurance. Highly recommended.
THIS OFFICE IS HORRIBLE! Every appointment I've had scheduled for the last 2 years has been cancelled on me. Then when they tell me I need to schedule another, they tell me since its been so long since I've seen him, the appointment has to be scheduled as a new patient appointment and has to be during THEIR time frame for new patient appointments. Never mind if its not convenient for me. Also, and this is my biggest issue, EVERY time I call to have my prescription sent out to me (because I live 45 minutes away) its NEVER delivered to me before I run out and I call anywhere between 8 and 10 days in advance. And when I complain, they tell me its the mail. NO. That's a load of BS. So then I'm left having to drive all the way out there to pick-up. They also never answer on the first call. I always have to call 6, 7, 8+ times before I finally get to talk to someone and a lot of times, they have issues with their phones and sometimes I can't call at all and have to wait until the next day. In addition, in the past when my appointments weren't cancelled, I'd wait 30 minutes to an hour before being seen. The last time I was there, I waited for an HOUR AND A HALF. I left and told them I had to get to work, and then they tried to bill for me a no show, no call. I have HAD it with the incompetency of this office. UPDATE 5/3/19 - SHOCKER! My appointment for the end of this month that was scheduled 6 months was cancelled. This place is an absolute JOKE. And unfortunately for me, it's the only place I can get my specific prescription filled that my insurance will cover. This place is SO bad, I'm actually considering just paying out of pocket so I don't have to deal with their BS anymore. Worst office EVER.
Our son has been a patient of his for 5 years. In the last 2 years this office has declined horribly. Understaffed, unprofressional staff, and it's clear Dr Mattingly doesn't want to treat patients anymore as he constantly is rescheduling our apts.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
