Awesome doctor??
Dr. Soffer was an awesome and unusual doctor. I felt thankful and so lucky to have found him. All of a sudden, 09/2021, I develop very high and unexplained high blood pressure. It had always been low. Dr. Soffer prescribed a very low dose medication. I already had 3 stints. Wednesday, day before Thanksgiving 2021, I was very sick with blood pressure readings in the 200 over 100’s range. Extreme nausea, my face and jaws were tight, So I called doctor Soffer. He told me to take another pill and to call on Monday (5 days later) to make an appointment. I couldn’t believe it! This is the advice I get from my heart doctor?? I had been his patient from 2013 thru November 2021. He was well aware that I had significant heart disease (3 stints before this new event). I felt very uneasy about his advice because I was so sick and followed my gut and drove myself to the nearest Urgent Care. The nurses there were horrified that Dr. Soffer didn’t insist that I go straight to to the Emergency
UPDATE! Dr. Soffer was an awesome and unusual doctor. I felt thankful and so lucky to have found him. All of a sudden, 09/2021, I develop very high and unexplained high blood pressure. It had always been low. Dr. Soffer prescribed a very low dose medication. I already had 3 stints. Wednesday, day before Thanksgiving 2021, I was very sick with blood pressure readings in the 200’sover100’s range. Soffer didn’t insist that I go straight to to the Emergency Room. They immediately call an ambulance to the Urgent Care and had me transferred to the nearest ER, fearing that I would have a stroke or heart attack. Early Thanksgiving morning, he arrives and says immediately, “you can go home.” Sure that he spoke to the other doctors because he comes back and says I’d have to stay. Long story short, I had two 90% blocked arteries and 1 artery that was 70% blocked. Mind boggling!! I said out loud to Dr. Soffer one day in the reception area of the building, “God Bless You” Dr. Soffer. I don’t think he liked this because he didn’t acknowledge me or respond and I know he heard me.
Dr. Soffer is a careful, thoughtful and insightful physician who is also a great listener -- the last not a trait always found in the medical profession. He is also very responsive to phone requests and calls back promptly.
I was extremely concerned about my wife's repeated severe chest pains at night. They were rather terrifying to say the least. She was fortunate to get an appointment as a new patient with Dr. Soffer. His process of diagnosing her condition was far more detailed than that of her former cardiologist at a diferent heart hospital in St Louis. Dr. Sofer explored other non-cardiac causes. The visit began with an EKG which was not done by the previous cardiologist. I was present during her visits to the two cardiologists. Dr Soffer's questions were extensive and detailed and ultimately led to a non-cardic GI issue that was possibly causing the episodes of severe pain. Some simple lifestyle changes have made an immediate benefit. In the near term a GI specialist will continue work to resolve any continuing issues. Having had heart issues in the past, I feel Dr. Soffer sets the gold standard for quality of both diagnosis and care.
Dr Soffer never keeps me waiting long. He is quick to notice when I’ve lost weight and very complimentary. He takes very good care of me. He’s extremely personable. I like that he goes to Farmington, MO.
I've been a patient for more than 2 years. Dr. Soffer is extremely through, and very open. In the past, he would have been an outstanding Family Physician due to his manner.
Dr. Soffer is just the best. He is very through, explains in detail, listens with great concern Never rushes through an appointment. Looks right at you when speaking or listening. There is so much I can say about this doctor and every bit of it would be credible because that's just the kind of man that he is. Also, Dr Soffer was there for me when I went through the death of my husband as I was falling apart, he never fails to ask how I am on the personal level when he sees me. Also knows how crazy I am about my grandson and even remembers his name and ask about him each and every visit .. Dr Soffer also recommend me to excellent surgeon when I had to have open heart surgery. His Staff is SUPERB! Once again, I just have to say Dr Soffer is the ultimate best
Very good communicator. Every aspect of pre-op was discussed to my satisfaction. Follow-ups were on time, through.
At first Dr. Sofer comes off a bit dry and aloof, however, nothing is further from the truth. He os intelligent, caring and is a good listener...not only what you say but the sounds and manner off your physical presence in the room (caught my wheezing sounds and other, etc.). His care is excellence, he asks for questions, your comments on "how you feel). I value this Dr. and I have been in the health care industry over 20 years myself.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
