List of Brian Van Tine's Reviews
Dr. Van Tine doesn't care about his patients but only drug trial statistics. He gave bad advise to my family member and she was intubated 1 and half day after was given trial immunotherapy plus chemo when later we found out the patient's hemoglobin was dangerously low and blood oxygen level was in the 70s when he administered the dose. We called the office when the patient was taking a downturn and wasn't able to talk to the doctor at all with much needed answers to our questions. The patient passed away the next day, only three days after Dr. Van Tine's trial therapy and ensured the patient was doing well. Please be aware and don't let him talk you into participating in drug therapy without making sure he will put your wellbeing before everything else. He even did tests that he shared results only internally but not with the patient, we as family members question if we would have agreed to the procedure if there were full disclosure.
A family member with cancer saw Dr. Van Tine, and his treatment of them has changed my family forever in the worst way possible. Do NOT agree to undergo any experimental trial with Dr. Van Tine. He will not prioritize your own personal well-being, but prioritize obtaining data, and I can hardly imagine a financial benefit for Dr. Van Tine is not involved. He was difficult to reach at all times -- notorious, even, for this among the staff at Barnes --, gave my family member false hope in life expectancy, had office staff that were also completely unhelpful during a time of crisis, and gave my family member more chemotherapy when lab values indicated that chemotherapy was the worst next step possible. We found out the last event once it was too late. I ask that you avoid the same. As a reviewer with a medical background, and with several family members with multiple occupations in the medical field -- Dr. Van Tine is the utter disappointment of the field of medicine and of Barnes, and I cannot recommend everyone enough to stay far away.
Excellent physician. My experience with Dr Van Time and his staff has been outstanding. I am so lucky to have found him. I would recommend him to everyone looking for a knowledge, dedicated and compassionate physician.
Dr Van TineVTine and his staff are very caring and thorough with a touch of humor.
Not only has Dr Van Tine helped me stay NED for 6 years, I’ve also witnessed him help countless others through personal recommendations or helping people in third world countries and their specialists to fight this nasty disease. He is selfless and amazing. I can’t say enough great things about him.
I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Van Tine & his staff. Very easy to talk to, a Dr I feel very comfortable with . I would definitely recommend him
One of the most unethical doctors.
One of the most unethical doctors you will ever find. Stay away from him and Washington University.
Dr VanTine is very easy to talk to. He explains what is found, and what needs to be done next. He is compassionate and has empathy towards his patients. (He is also a genius cause I am still here â?º) I have nothing but good things to say about this physician. He is dedicated and always has a smile on his face , which is very comforting. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. I love this doctor!! & best team members ever .ð???
I mother was a patient of Dr. Van Tine's. I accompanied her many times for appoitments. Each time, the doctor was timely, patient and answered the numerous questions we had. We were also told "I will tell you when to worry" and he did. Towards the end of my mothers life, I was able to show up at his office and be seen without an appt. (walked over from the hospital). He also spent several hours (after office hours) with my family and I explaining what to expect and answering all our questions. We also received cards and phone calls after her passing. I would recommend Dr. Van Tine to anyone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
