Ugh. I absolutely HATE to write this. I’ve used Dr. Abraham for almost 4 years now. And I LOVED her. Even once she moved practices I drove an a additional 30 mins to use her services. Until today. I just had a baby a week ago, via emergency c-section and it was REQUIRED that I make an appointment for my son before the hospital would discharge him. However, i was NOT discharged yet. I’m a type 1 diabetic and after birth my blood sugars were 400+ so discharging me was not an option. I called & they wanted to reschedule it for the next day. Well the next day I was in full-blown DKA and basically sedated. I received a “snarky” voicemail from Dr. Abraham herself saying, and I quote: “This is NOT a place where it is okay to miss appointments.” Which, honestly I get, missed appointments is wasted money. I ended up forcing the hospital to discharge me because I have three other kids and was running out of child care (I had been there EIGHT DAYS) and I finally got home last night (which is the night of the missed appointment) Woke up to a knock on my door from DFS. 😡 which I also understand, may be mandatory. But the DFS officer tells us normally he’d just be giving us a phone call, but because of what was reported he has to do a FULL assessment (check my house, have a required LONG talk about care of a newborn, AND GO TO MY DAUGHTERS (7 years old) SCHOOL TO TALK TO HER PERSONALLY). Everything went fine and the case is already closed but I AM LIVID. Dr. Abrahams practice knew I was not discharged yet at the time of creating the appointment, but it was mandatory. So long story short, if you have a chronic illness (like diabetes) and need some leniency on appointments DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE. I probably could have singularly let the snarky voicemail and MAYBE the DFS full assessment go, but in conjunction— I will not bring my children here again. Which honestly, I hate that it even led to this.

Dr. Abraham is knowledgeable and treats the person not just a symptom all while being friendly and personable. She’s awesome!
