List of Richard D. Brasington's Reviews
Great doctor, great person, and spends as much time as you need listening to you. One of the best rheumatologist in the country!
I became a patient of Dr Brasington in 2007. At the time I was seeing a different rheumatologist for 2 1/2 year, diagnosed with joint lupus, and I was consistently deteriorating and had me on Prednisone and Darvocet the entire 2 1/2 yrs. By that time I could barely walk and had to start using a cane. I begged for help and Dr verbally attacked me and said I just wanted Opiates. I had never taken nor asked even once for this Dr to change till that day. I have no idea how it happened, I consider it a Godsend bc I mysteriously got a call from Barnes with an appointment with Dr Brasington, so I went not even knowing why.. Dr Brasington SAVED MY LIFE! He treated me and within a few months I dropped the cane and had immediately improvement. I could never of asked for better absolutely amazing Dr. He has referred me to any other Drs I have needed, I have 3 autoimmune diseases now and he has found them, treated them, and got all my specialists in those fields. He has been in practice for 40+yrs, teaches at Washington university still, and has more compassion and care than any Dr Ive ever seen, which are a lot! I AM TRULY BLESSED AND I LOVE THIS MAN DEARLY AND THANK THE LORD FOR HIM EVERYDAY!!! 🙂💚💛🧡💜❤
Dr. Brasington has been my Rheumatologist for over 18 years. I think he's very efficient and a great listener. He cares.
Went to six different doctors over period of approx. 9 months. Told all that arthritis was in my family for generations. None could diagnosis the swelling of fingers and wrists. Took Dr. Brazington approx. 5 minutes and he had me figured out. Also saved me from foot surgery when all it took was time and different shoes. HE IS THE MAN!
Too busy to listen to patients, used to be much better.
Used to be great but too busy to listen now.
Very patient, excellent listener. I love that he takes time to explain all the options and admits what is known and not known for treating difficult conditions. Great resource for treating my systemic uveitis/scleritis. You may have to wait a bit in the office, but it's worth it since they take the necessary time with all patients.
He is unresponsive and not proactive in preventing worsening conditions. It seems he does not understand what the patient is experiencing and does not seem to care about the patient's quality of life. Unsympathetic. He is also forgetful in submitting prescriptions to the pharmacy. I would recommend a doctor whom has more time for his patients and a doctor that treats conditions aggressively.
I have only seen him once so far, but he has helped me much more in this time than my previous doctor did in several years. He has a great bedside manner and I look forward to working with him in the future in hopes of even greater improvement. He is considered to be rather knowledgeable in my disease (Sjogren's syndrome), so that is a plus as well.
Dr.Brasington always takes his time with me to go over any concerns that I may have. He has helped me for many years as my doctor, one of the best I have ever had. Dr. Brasington will not rush you if you hae a concern.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
