Ryan Fields's Online Review Report Card

I recently had Dr Ryan fields Remove a Merkel Cell Carcinoma from my leg. He was well informed , kind and took time to answer questions So , professional, and I came home same day with minimal discomfort. I highly recommend him. I will be following up with him in a few weeks. Glad to have him in my team!!!!

He was honest, he saved my husband's life. I was scared and alone up there and he and his staff helped me so much. He is a terrific man and remarkable surgeon. Thank you again.

First, I believe this physician has skill as a surgeon. Unfortunately, afterwards his ego, lack of respect for others' feelings and time, seemingly lack of any consideration for anyone except himself, and disrespectful / unprofessional / and a bit incompetent assistant Brooke created a hellish environment as I spent the next 4-plus years meeting for follow-up visits after my surgery. The 'only' reason I'm comfortable giving these 'characters' one star is because Fields does have skill as a surgeon! Future consumers BEWARE!! S. L. Lundry, Ph.D., Ed.D.

I am so upset with trying to get an appointment with this surgeon that I was referred to. There staff is the worst I think I have ever? had to deal with. I was referred on 15 January 2021 and I have been trying ever since just to contact their office. If I do get through they don’t know anything and I still don’t have an appointment. I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma by my dermatologist and I need to have it removed through general surgery according to what she told me but I don’t have any idea how that’s ever going to happen if no one knows anything and can’t even schedule an appointment for me. I am about ready to just accept the cancer? over dealing with these people. All I get are answering machines and no one returns my calls. Really how difficult is that to do? Frustrated to no end.

Undoubtedly and unequivocally the worst experience I have ever had in a hospital environment and THE WORST care received by Ryan Courtney Fields, MD!!! I received NO preoperative or postoperative care from Ryan Fields, MD. I did receive care from Fields medical team. I had a very serious surgery with a 50% surgery survival rate and Fields did not even check on me himself postoperative. I saw Ryan Fields, MD approximately three to five minutes in person. I would not and do not recommend Ryan Fields for ANY medical situation. My stay at Barnes Jewish Hospital could NOT have been worse as per Fields direction. CC: file

I had an operation in Southern Illinois that turned out really bad. The dr had messed me up to the point I almost died. Dr. Fields is young but he is a wonderful dr.!!! He made sure that every thing he did was correct and as painless as possible. I am so glad he was my doctor and surgeon! I recommend him to everyone!

Staff will not call me back for an appointment. When you have cancer, you would hope the staff would schedule an appointment. I had to find another surgeon.

Dr Frields just preformed the Whipple procedure on me and I have been home almost two weeks. It is amazing but I suffered absolutely no pain the entire time in the hospital and have had no need for any pain meds of any kind. I am getting strength back at a good rate and will not need any help at home beginning next week. I am anxious for my first follow up visit so he can see how well I’m doing. I think he is a marvelous surgeon. And highly recommend.

Dr. Ryan Fields did my surgery for a malignant Pheochromocytoma in 2013 and have followed up with MRI's every 6 months and now on a yearly basis. In May of 2015, I also had a benign liver cyst removed.
