I had a colonoscopy yesterday and Dr. Mangum and his staff were great.

Just awful. I have so many stories from being his patient, but ultimately, he did not take me or my disease seriously. If you have ulcerative colitis, good luck getting adequate treatment. This man wouldn't even put me on steroids, because he didn't think they'd work, and didn't want to move to biologics for me, though my maintenance medication never worked for me. Spoiler: steroids saved my life after this during my hospital stays (that could have been prevented with adequate treatment) and biologics subsequently put me in remission.

My first colonoscopy in my life went horribly wrong. I called the hospital and their staff. They don’t take responsibility for what they have done to me. I’m going to say either the equipment or one of the staff weren’t very sanitary. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

This Dr. failed to diagnose a major gastrointestinal disease for years. I also was told that my insurance wouldn’t pay for an important test I needed, but when I went to another hospital/practice I was told that was completely incorrect and was given the test which my insurance did pay for.

Went in and saw nurse practitioner. Ran two test on two different times. I have heartburn really bad so I was referred by my family doctor. After paying out of pocket for $3k eggs and test. No phone call follow up just a letter in the mail. Saying in layman’s terms “Yep you have heartburn bad”. Change your diet and good luck! Wow never saw the doctor.

I nearly died because of this man's incompetence. This is not an exaggeration. He didn't catch the difference between a stomach ulcer and a blocked bile duct, which is *exactly* what a gastroenterologist is supposedly an expert in.

I nearly died from his incompetence. I saw this man twice for extreme abdominal pain. The first time he diagnosed a stomach ulcer. The problem resolved somewhat, but 10 months later it was back. This time he did a scope of my stomach and said "the pain I reported wasn't commensurate with the ulcer" he found, told my husband I was drug seeking, and sent me home. My bile duct was obstructed due to scar tissue from untreated gallstones. He should have caught that.

I saw Dr. Mangum for a colonoscopy 4/3/2017. He was very informative and quite pleasant. I would recommend him to anyone getting ready to have this procedure.

He is in a hurry and then sends in his NP who is as hateful as you can get.Choose a different Dr.Just like the previous review he's fast to label you before he even gets to know you.
