Absolutely the best..so respectful and understanding...
Over-treated & neglectful. Will never recommend.
I had not met Dr. Lyford before my procedures. I was very shocked and disappointed to learn after being prepped for a colonoscopy and endoscopy that Dr. Lyford, his nurse and his tech assistant had not been vaccinated for Covid. The nurse said she wasn't because of conspiracy theories and the doctor said that the vaccine wasn't fully approved. The current rate of vaccinations completed in Greene County is 31%. How can we expect that rate to improve if health care providers aren't getting vaccinated. What upset me the most was when a second nurse came into the room and told me that I was the patient and had no right to ask staff if they had been vaccinated. I reminded him that I WAS the patient and was paying to be treated safely. I was required to have a negative Covid test before the procedure to keep them safe. After my recovery, Dr. Lyford didn't come in to explain what he had learned. Instead, he left two sheets of paper with cryptic notes. I hope more is included in my file!
Kind, caring and considerate!!
I was referred to him and he is outstanding and so is his staff. They were caring and very considerate
While this site and the Ferrell-Duncan site say he is accepting new patients, he is not. I received a specific referral and called to schedule with Dr. Lyford. They scheduled me with Dr. Ng without telling me and I almost got a post-procedure surprise about who my doctor was. They appeared to be dishonest about the referral, saying the referral was "first available" while the primary care nurse read the specifics of the wording. Integrity is important in a care provider and staff.
Dr Lyford & his staff are outstanding!
Today was my first visit after waiting months to get in to see him. I must say that he was worth waiting for! Tall, handsome, smart, and a bedside manner? Impressive!
If this review would allow me to put a negative 100 stars, I would. This doctor is a rude, arrogant, inconsiderate jerk. He kept delaying all the tests until we ran out of time and had to start the cycle all over again--4 times!! He was always late to our appointments by like an hour or more. One day he was more than an hour and a half late. When I complained, he said he was entitled to be late and didn't care a bit that I was upset. Furthermore, as I was leaving the office visit, he declared in an egotistical, callous way that he would most certainly be LATE to our next appointment and that I could just get used to it because I wouldn't find any other doctor to treat my case in the area. I told him I bet I could...AND I DID! Much more effectively, courteously, and respectfully.
Dr Lyford is what You would hope for in a very competent, professional & personable physician. He spoke with me just prior to my procedure which made me feel more relaxed, his 2 assistive staff were great, explaining things as they prepared me for procedure (Colonoscopy), they answered any questions. The office staff (prior to my procedure) mailed my prep & instruction papers, then called to follow up & make sure I understood them or asked if I had any questions; He spoke w me & my husband afterwards, about his findings (which were favorable in my case): I will require follow-up colon screenings every 3 yrs & hope he is still available to perform them. I highly recommend. As a retired RN, I understand that any delays between patients means that every case is given its own important attention & the unpredictability of findings that can occur w each procedure, requires more or less time needed to do what is needed for a good patient outcome.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
