He did my back surgery about twelve years ago and did a terrible job and then tried to act like I was alright when I clearly was not.

It saddens me to see all these bad comments about Dr. Mace. When I went to him no one who help me because I weighed over 400 pounds but had a herniated disk pressing on two nerves: sciatic and the one that controls bowels/bladder. He took me on even tho the risk of hurting it again runs high unless I lose weight. I lost about 200 and when I went back in after having issues with a new disk be congratulated me on my health journey and helped me. Not only that, he’s done my moms back surgery and saved my dad’s life twice with brain surgery. He is also who caught the issue another Dr. at Hospital missed that eventually killed my cousin. He tried to correct Cunningham’s mistakes but it was too late. She was gone. He’s shown me and my family nothing but compassion. If you can’t handle blunt honesty, then maybe you might be a little to sensitive. I’d rather a doc give it to me straight than sugar coat it. Im about to return to him for another laminectomy soon. I know he will take care of me- he and his team always does!

My husband has numerous medical conditions. Dr. Mace went above and beyond what we had hoped for during our initial visit. He took a lot of time discussing my husbands medical history. It was determined that my husband would not be a candidate for spinal surgery due to his numerous medical issues. Very high risk for my husband. So spinal surgery would have to be the very last alternative but would explore other options. One of which we are scheduled for. And had his nurse come in and spend time with us first, then his assistant spent 10-15 minutes with us before we saw him. Very professional and thorough.Between the 3 of them all of our needs were met.

My visit went very well. Staff was the best and they took good care of me. So far everything going well. Just wanted to say thank you.

Excellent physician. Her did a major procedure on my mother. He is skilled and professional. My mother loved him. He took the time to explain everything. Great guy too.

What else can I say. He got me out of my wheelchair and walking again.

Knows exactly what he is doing. When it's "medically" time for spinal surgery he is the right surgeon. He is direct, efficient and professional. He has surrounded himself with equally qualified and professional staff.

I’ve had 10 surgeries in the last 4 years, and Dr. Mace has been my favorite surgeon. He performed 2. I had the opposite experience from the other people in these reviews. I’d been dismissed by other doctors, I went to Dr. Mace, he examined me and had me admitted to the ICU within two hours and booked to be in the operating room within 8 hours. He took the time to explain my condition and the procedure extensively, he answered all of my questions, and I never dealt with a PA. He even came to the hospital at 3am once when there was an issue with a new nurse administering my meds correctly, which I don’t think is standard for a neurosurgeon, it struck me as going the extra mile. He monitored me closely with follow up MRI’s, and I still go into his office every 6 months for a follow up and have had nothing but good experiences. I would recommend him to anyone.
