Urgent CABG surgery needed while traveling on business. Jimmy and his team saved my life. Thank you and well done.

My Stepfather received a quadrupple bypass and Aortic Valve replacement. Dr. Day I assume performed the surgery well. This review is pertaining to his post op care and lack of bedside manner. He told my stepdad to “Sssh, stop talking”, has ignored his questions, and been very short with him while he was in Baptist on 9B. Also, my stepdad explained to Dr.Day and his APN that he has adverse reactions to Lipitor and to please not give him this medicine. The Dr. and his team wrote for Lipitor. Even after we found he was receiving it due to the symptoms it caused they said they would switch it to another Med and never did. The RN would continue to try and give the Med for the next 3 days. Even when he went to rehab they sent records stating he was on Lipitor so rehab started trying to give it to him also. At his appt with Dr.Day I was on FaceTime so I could be present for the appt even though I was at work. When my stepdads friend who had went to the appt with him asked for clarification that he was getting a CT and was that going to be at Baptist or would he be transferred somewhere else? Dr. Day raised his hand as in saying shut up and said “ We have got this handled and I have other things to do” and literally walked out the door. Had I not witnessed these occurrences with my own eyes I’m not sure I would have believed it. However, I did see these interactions. I have been an RN for 17 years and have never seen the likes of his unprofessionalism with the patient and the family. I also work in a large hospital and worked in a way that I encountered a large population of physicians. Just appalled in his lack of respect for fellow humans, truly.

Dr.day was great. He never hesitated to answer any questions I had about the surgery or concerns I had afterwards. I recommend him to anyone needing his expertise.
