He gave me way too medicines. I’m so glad I’m off most of what he prescribed. I would NOT advise anyone going to this Doctor. .
Great doctor with years of experience. Takes the time to get to know you and listen.
There are few men I've met who are as insecure as Jim Bright. The comparatively few patients in this thread who left positive reviews likely never disagreed with him in any way. The only way to maintain a pleasant dynamic with Dr. Bright is to never upset his fragile ego. Gentle, corrective feedback instantly makes him anxious and highly defensive. Respectfully disagreeing with him sends him into a panicked fight-or-flight mode. This guy can say the nastiest, passive-aggressive things with a huge smile on his face. Experience has taught me that the fields of therapy and psychology are chock-full of practitioners who need treatment even more than their patients do. Dr. Bright is no exception. I can have compassion for the severe pain he's clearly in, but it's a moral outrage to expect high payment for psychiatric expertise that has clearly proved useless to the doctor who is dispensing it. You wouldn't seek financial advice from a gambling addict. You wouldn't hire an obese personal trainer. Don't go to a psychiatrist who's a basket case.
The staff is extremely rude. How this doctor continues to let Shawna and Paige treat his patients like they do, is mind boggling. I have been seeing this doctor for a few years and am comfortable with his care, so I have been able to overlook a few things, like the long waits. I always arrive early but I never get to walk right in and see the doctor my wait time has been anywhere from half an hour to an hour. Scheduling is a nightmare, if you have to reschedule, it may take months to be seen again. I am not sure if this is incompetence on the part of the receptionist who can't schedule properly or if this is on the direction of the doctor. Bad scheduling I can deal with but what I can't deal with is how the receptionist treats the patients, she is argumentative and just plain rude. This doctor really needs to take a hard look and maybe think about some kind of training or firing.
In April I lost my job, my grandma passed away, and an immediate family member was diagnosed with breast cancer. I didn’t handle it well and accidentally missed two appointments, as a result I received a letter I was no longer welcome to see Dr Bright. I tried to pay for the missed appointments and explain the situation but zero leniency was given. For being a mental health provider, there is very little understanding given to mental health issues.

I was encouraged to seek a second opinion from Dr Bright for all the wrong reasons. My family didn't understand what was happening to me and hoped for an instant pharmacological fix. He and I seemed to understand each other well. Dr. Bright has devoted his time, compassion, and energy to the fight to assist men in women in their suffering. He has heard, over and over, stories to break the heart. I have deep respect for anyone who has the courage to do this. It would be beyond me. It is doubtful the answer will ever be just a certain pill, or some trendy self help book you grab at the airport, All the one helping you can do is listen carefully and make what amounts to an educated professional guess. They then must bear the anguish of hoping to God they made the right call. Doctor Bright advised me to continue treatment at the walk in clinic I was already going to. I was satisfied with his decision. It told me that others in our community needed his expertise more than me. It has occurred to me lately that there is an older, more time worn way for we humans to bear our pain and suffering. A way of being our grandmothers and great grandfathers may have known better than we. Perhaps a lost source of strength. Folks like me battling mental illness need every ounce of love and sympathy our family, friends, and neighbors can muster. We also require the strength, both within ourselves and without. I need a strength that is endlessly beyond me.
En garde! Dr Bright employs an intuitive approach. Be as nonreactive as you can be. Old school wisdom. Remember those great teachers you had in high school? The ones you might have misunderstood at the time, but whose words have resonated throughout the years. Struck me as that type of man.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
