Ling Li's Online Review Report Card

If I could give zero stars I would. 95% of the appointment was her telling me I needed to lose weight. 2.5% was her annoyed that I did not know what my A1C was from my other doctor. And the other 2.5% was her saying she wasn’t even sure I had diabetes. She was very rude. I will list a few things she said to me: “It is okay to set your kids in front of the TV and exercise for 30 minutes. They will be fine. Playing with them outside is not active enough that is basic parenting. You need to work out.” “I am not sure you even have diabetes because if I do bloodwork your A1C will be fine since you are on medication for it. So, I do not even know if you are actually diabetic” “I guess we can do bloodwork and I’ll mail you results, you do not need a follow up” I mentioned I have several symptoms of PCOS and she said “Okay? Were you diagnosed?” And I said no, but I’d like to do whatever test necessary to check for it and she was not interested in that at all. These are just a few things she said. I literally sat there the entire appt and listened to her telling me all these things and got ZERO answers, no course of action, nothing. She was very dry, I barely even talked I was lectured the whole time. I 100% WIL NOT go back.

She cares more than she might show. She's always done her very best for me. She showed me real compassion and caring when I needed it. I trust her with my brain. It's the most I have of anything. I've seen other neurologists because of a change of location, and I came back to her. The others were very dismissive or just couldn't figure anything out. I won't go to anyone else.

She's extremely rushed, refuses to actually listen to her patients, and never reviews previous records. Wouldn't go over an MRI she ordered, only ordered the MRI and not even blood tests, before telling my husband (the patient), "At least you're not dying." Said to come back if it "gets worse", but that there was no point to schedule another appt, and could refer to somewhere else if we wanted to try that after only 1 medication prescribed that didn't help. Basically, she refused to do her job at all. Also laughed in my husband's face when he said that we're losing everything to this unknown illness and will be homeless soon (funny, right?), before rushing out of the room. Clearly only there for a paycheck, we've never met a doctor that cares so little (and I'm a disabled "professional patient", so I've seen it all). I wouldn't recommend her to my worst enemy. Patients don't deserve to feel unheard, like the doctor is disinterested, or unfixable and abandoned as she did. Deplorable.

The only time I have ever felt the need to report inefficiency and uncaring office. Waited 2 months to see Dr. Li after attempting appt. Stated she would refer me to Surgeon after all my tests completed; her office forgot to do so. Called many times and was told once "they were going to lunch and would get back to me". I never heard back. I certainly hope this will save other patients from receiving the care I received. I was able to transfer to SNI at Cox, where the care is professional, efficient, and caring.

She did no exam. She didn't opt for any tests because she said "they're painful". She didn't listen to me, my symptoms, or concerns. She offered no help for my damaged nerves except throwing medication at the problem, saying I'd have to take it every day for the rest of my life. I threw the prescription away as soon as I got home. I'm doing just fine without it. I have bad days, sure, but I've learned more about nerve pain relief from internet searches than I did from her so those days aren't as frequent or as bad anymore. It's incredibly sad that Google was a better medical resource for me than she was.

She is very friendly which is uncommon with doctors. She has much knowledge which she is very good at sharing. She also takes the time with you if you need it.

I definitely don’t recommend her; especially if your diagnosis is challenging. She Misdiagnosed me for over a year. Finally sent me for a lumbar stick. Didn’t follow up. Final straw, MA would ignore phone calls. Had to call the main desk at her clinic to try to get test results, THREE WEEKS AFTER TEST! Ended up going to Barnes-Jewish hospital. Totally worth the drive.

I really don't understand the other reviews (maybe they got the Dr. wrong or something). I am a retired RN and have worked with physicians for 40 years. We saw Dr. Li regardling my husband's recent stroke. Dr. Li was so personable and understanding of his frustrations and she took the time to show us his MRI . She was friendly and encouraging and developed a plan of care for us. We have absolutely no complaints with her and feel lucky to be under her care.
