Waited in MERCY Hospital ER with relative having chest pains with history of heart issues for 4 hours. Had vitals taken once. There were people in the ER waiting to see a doctor for 12 hours. We were told that there was only one RN for the entire ER waiting room with 58 people waiting to be seen in the entire ER waiting room and no one available to process / test blood draws results. People were walking out of ER that should have been admitted, including us. If you are an ER and can't provide a service, then don't operate like you can!
You know I'm from California and even their hospitals move faster then this. The ER seems to have no Doctors but that they would rather wait you out till you just get up and leave. This hospital is trash and if I had the gas I would drive to Branson to Cox.
Absolutely Pathetic!!! Took my husband in this last Saturday night. There were only 3 other people waiting in the emergency room when we arrived. Waited over 9 hours and finally gave up and went to another hospital. Got right in there. If you were drunk or doped up on gummies they would take you in immediately. They even had patients coming in after us off the ambulance that had to sit and wait, one older gentleman was having issues with his bladder filling up and no way to empty himself and was in excruciating pain. Told him he would have to just wait. Sickening!! Rude!! Pathetic!! I will NEVER return to this hospital or recommend it to anyone. BEST NOT GET A BILL!
ER waiting room is terrible!! My 80 yr old step dad has been in the waiting room for over 24 hours now because they say they have no rooms available, according to one of the staff the reason no rooms are available is because they don’t have enough staff. One of the nurses was even passing out a pamphlet and telling people to call that number and complain because they are sick of being short staffed too. My step dad was sent by his VA Dr after seeing his results of an EKG, Dr said go straight to ER. I guess Mercy doesn’t think their patients are really sick or don’t care about how long they have to wait as long as they save money by not having enough staff… It’s a sad world when health of a person isn’t priority in a hospital.
My family member has cancer and is going through chemo treatments. Thank God they are getting treatment somewhere else because when she was in town, she had a 103° fever and her treating physician told them to go to the ER for antibiotics. Their physician called and spoke with the ER and they were told that antibiotics were needed to be administered. 5 hours later, they started the process to access the port and connect an iv. They still haven’t pushed the antibiotics! They could have driven home to their regular hospital in 5 hours. Don’t expect urgency here!
This hospital is a joke. I went in on February 6th for a cervical spinal fusion, the nurses and doctors were awesome, but all I heard was complaints by the staff! While in recovery I over heard nurse complaining that they could not get patients to rooms because of how understaffed the floors are! And the more I listened the more upset I became! They were saying that the situation has been going on for months with no end in site! That all floors were critically low on nurses to cover patients but there were ample rooms! But why is it we hear On the news constantly that the hospitals are full of COVID AND FLU PATIENTS! I finally requested to be released to go home and was moved back to a same day suite and again I heard nurses complaining about how understaffed the hospital is and that they can not get traveling nurses to come help because of pay! Well for one patient I will be contacting state resources and filing a complaint and talking to my attorney on this matter because I didn't fill safe staying over night o to nurse shortage! The nurses and doctors again were amazing but come MERCY GET IT TOGETHER AND STOP BEING GREEDY! UPDATE MERCY CONTACTED ME ABOUT MY CONCERNS AND THIS WILL BE IGNORED AND SWEPT UNDER THE RUG! SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION ELSEWHERE! MERCY IS A JOKE AND GOING TO COST LIVES!!!!
My mom was admitted to mercy and stayed 7days in the covid unit. Along with covid she is a chemotherapy patient with RBC issues. The bed in ER she laid in for 6 hours was soaked with someone else’s urine which got all over my mother and absolutely nothing was done about it. Her current medications were never discussed or given to her the entire stay. Due to this her rate got up to 200 one evening. She was put on different medication to take care of that but now the medication isn’t working right and nobody will return my calls or help. While in the hospital anytime my mom needed assistance it would take sometimes hours for help. She waited over an hour for help to the bathroom. At one time this hospital was amazing and I’m sure there are wonderful people who work there. Our last experiences and what I’m currently still dealing with should be unacceptable. It’s just very unfortunate. A horrible experience and still is.
Went to Mercy ER with my mom (a stroke patient) by ambulance yesterday. Waited over 11 hours, never saw a Dr., never got any tests results and we left because we get tired of being lied to. The nuns are crying about how terrible and money grubbing this hospital has become. 😰😰😰 Was contacted by Mercy that they would contact me as of today January 26 - NO CONTACT!!!!
I have been sitting in the E.R. for 14 hours with my client who has yet to be seen. She is elderly with a broken knee, elbow, loose teeth and many other painful issues. The staff has been rude, disrespectful and unfeeling. MERCY HOSPITAL must be so proud.
Recently, I had a heart attack. Everyone I interacted with, were just the best. The entire staff was nice and comforting. Even the ambulance driver Rebecca. If you have to have a heart attack. I would highly recommend making your way to Mercy for treatment

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
