I have been seeing Dr. Van Ess for a while now due to an ear problem. I have had issues with my ear since childhood and he has really been helping with the issue. After he rebuilt the eardrum and cleaned out where the 3 tiny bones are. I was able to hear better, prior to that I had no hearing at all.. He is very attentive, listens to what I have to say and yes he does take notes at the computer but that's fine. IMHO he is one of the best Dr's to see if you have an ear problem.

Dr. Van Ess was completely thorough with explaining how everything was going to happen and we could expect post surgery. Hes phenomenal!

This doctor did not listen to me at all. Was more focused on typing into his computer than actually listening to what I was telling him. Repeated questions even though I just answered it. He is adversarial in his speaking manner and does not share information at all. I felt more like I was on a conveyor belt (patient in/patient out) than being seen by a knowledgeable human being. Dr. Van Ess, I am sure you're great at what you do, but I didn't experience that. PAITIENTS ARE PEOPLE FIRST!!!

I had been deaf for almost 40 years, now I can hear! Maybe not what many would call heroic but he is a hero in my eyes (and ears). Entire staff is attentive and helpful - if I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Dr. Van Ess is so nice, considerate and takes his time with me and makes sure I understand what he is saying. I can't say enough nice things about him. He doesn't interrupt, he let's me tell him what is wrong and then he helps. Nice to have a doctor not be in a rush he makes you feel cared for.

Amazing doctor! We hadn't had much luck with our previous ENT and hearing loss was worsening so we were referred to Dr. Van Ess and couldn't be more thankful! Most resent appt proved hearing for my little one is restored to normal levels! Dr. always made sure we understood everything each appt and treated my son with patience and kindness each time. Even if hearing was not restored, I would still leave this doctor 5 stars.

Dr. Van Ess, helped me get my hearing back with reconstruction surgery, he is excellent, kind and catering, the overall hospital care was excellent, very professional office,I would highly recommend him. The whole procedure and and process was a good experience, thank you so very much.

DR. VAN ESS PERFORMED SURGERY ON MY RIGHT EAR A FEW YEARS BACK. HE GAVE MY LIFE BACK TO ME. HE IS A HIGHLY SKILLED SURGEON AND KIND AND COMPASSIONATE I NOW HAVE A PROBLEM IN MY LEFT EAR AND TRYING TO GET IN TO CONSULT WITH HIM AGAIN. HE IS THE BEST OF THE BEST IN MY OPINION I WOULD RATE HIM AT LEAST 10 STARS.
