List of Mercy Hospital Springfield's Reviews
Went in for colonoscopy, suffered two punctures. Upon admission caught covid, then massive infection, two brain seizures, pneumonia, heart, liver and kidney failure and coded. Honestly don't know how I made it out of there alive. Never sick, had to go to the hospital to die.
After seeing how this facility delivers their health care, see why they are given such poor reviews. This hospital certainly is not one of the better things Springfield has to offer.
Day shift on the children emergency. Is Beyond slow side. 3 hour wait in ( 530am to 915am) lobby due to shift changing before being called back into a room, daughter was denied throw up pan, appealling throwing up on floor is acceptable standard of practice at mercy, after speaking with staff members it was very clear that day shift wasnt interested in working and night shift top priorities was ending their shift was more important then patient care for those waiting in lobby. Another 4 hour wait for ultrasound and ct scan for possible rupture appendix is ridiculous standard of practice. Child is left in serve pain & throwing up in emergency room & waiting room area without proper monitoring is unacceptable standard procedure and protocols. I think the hospital can due much better serving their patients needs vs being on phone or constantly talking to each other at this point. Patient Care should always be their top prior, stop using the excuse of covid. Their was so many empty rooms, for them to be that slow. We person called to speak to supervisor, cal claims he would get her a throw up pan, provided his direct phone number was still ignored. Parents need to be respected, when they bring their child is because it's better to be safe then sorry. Have concerns with about surgery area too, chairs for parents or family should be available in recovery room, patients should be provided socks for feet vs walking on the hospital floor to bathroom barefooted.
Went to the ER with dizziness and racing heart. While receiving a EKG a maintenance worker came through the closed door clearly labeled do not open. I'm a female. I had just pulled my shirt down after the tech applied the telemetries. Very rude! He then started to come back through a second time when someone stopped him. Then the triage RN shared with me it was likely to be a 7 to 10 hour wait. Since I was feeling better I walked. I will not go back to this ER.
My spouse is CURRENTLY in Recovery Room 3161 due to extensive abdominal surgery. He was eligible for pain medication at 8:30 p.m. Five calls to the nurses' station over the course of 2.5 hours & his nurse assistant couldn't be bothered to pause his movie long enough to check on him. He's connected to an IV, completely out of water, & had to empty his own catheter bag. When I left earlier today to go to work, I didn't realize I'd left him to die. Mercy is going to kill him before I can get back to save him.
My daughter is currently sitting in the ER waiting to be evaluated for a possible concussion and has been there for 12 hours. She is in pain and has only received Tylenol once 11 hours ago. As a nurse I find this unbelievable! I called twice to speak to someone, the first nurse lied to me and the second nurse couldn't have cared less. This isn't just a staff shortage thing or poor management, this is a lack of compassion and empathy.
I see this Emergency Room gets a 2.5 rating on Google. I suppose some person out there at some point must have been feeling super generous. I am absolutely appalled at the conditions of this hospital emergency room and the complete lack of care for the patients. Completely UNACCEPTABLE.

They have lost my account. Made more then one accounts for me. Has let me go untreated with out medication. Due to lack of communication with insurance. Didn't get a professional exam. Looked over me less then five min and out the door she went. Bad bad bad
Shortage of staff therefore patients get ignored. We had 1 really good nurse…facility is dirty, waited in ER for 8 hours with 5 broken ribs, along with other truly ailing patients who waited just as long. Room was dirty. Er is dirty. Staff are over worked

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
