Went by ambulance with chest pains to er he was on duty sent me home didn’t do anything finally got in to see my cardiologist did a nuclear stress test failed it he did an angiogram ended up taking 2 stents over lapping each other in the RCA don’t recommend

Absolute best experience I have had with a physician in years!!! I'm a nurse and I have chronic health problems so I am around physicians a lot. This one is phenomenal; he was especially great with my 8-uear-old daughter. I am forever grateful. :)

Hands down, the absolute worse dr I have ever dealt with. And I am serious, just ask for another dr, or you will be dealing with a dr who seems to be in the wrong field of work, who has no compassion and doesn't seem to have any idea on bedside manners. I was born with a chronic health issue, one that flares up causing pain that I have passed out from before. Like so many others with chronic pain, I became addicted to the pain meds: I sought treatment and I now help others learn how to handle pain, or just try to get through it. Due to my history and the Opiate addiction, I understood why this dr would not treat the pain. What makes him one lousy dr is how he patient profiles, and overall, just his rudeness in how he speaks to his patients. I have seen a lot of dr(s) due to my illness which is a rare condition. I have had lots of surgeries and have developed Sepsis more then once. I still go in and see addiction professionals even though I have been treated for addiction. I was told by my primary care dr and my doctors in St.Louis: that I can take IV pain medication, but not to take a prescription from an ER doctor. I am in total agreement with this, and I was fine going without any pain control: It is what this dr did and said that shocked me. I explained to him that I can have IV pain meds, but I wouldn't take a prescription for an ER department. I told him, like I tell all drs that I see for this, that I didn't want to see him get into some sort of trouble, drs are caught in a rough spot too. A few mins passed, dead awkward silence with myself and family in the room, when this dr literally went ballistic, actually telling me I didn't deserve to be treated for pain and if I thought he was going to give me a prescription for a narcotic, that this wasn't happening. That was just fine to me, I had just told him what my boundaries are, and for 12 years I have never accepted an rx: what got me was the "you don't deserve to be treated for pain" and what seemed iike a personal attack rather than a dr just telling me that he was uncomfortable giving me anything: that I understand. So, beware--I can't imagine that I am the only one that this dr has talked too in such a rude way. I don't think he has ever suffered a high level of pain, the passing out kind of pain. How could he? Based on how he spoke to me: but regardless, this dr has no right to speak to anyone the way he spoke to me, not his nurses, the housekeeping...etc. This is the only dr that I went to the medical director of the ER and told him what had happened. She was even shocked, so that tells you something. If he comes into the room, just get the heck out of town and head to Mercy......

I have seen Dr. Gilbreth twice, once for myself for a heart attack and once for my child for a 4 wheeler accident. He was wonderful in both situations. He took extra care to make sure we were both comfortable and taken care of properly. I hope in the event of an emergency he is the one taking care of us.

Avoid this doctor at all costs. If you go to the ER at any of the Cox locations and Dr. Gilbreth walks in, save yourself some anger and irritation and just walk out. This is the only Dr. I have ever filed an official complaint on, and I have no regrets whatsoever. I have a complex liver history, was born with this. In 2010, I became concerned about how many pain meds I was on, and I took action to take care of how to learn to deal with pain without opiates. If I had to do it again, I would take a different route, for certain. I also found out the hard way that my memory is severely effected by anti-anxiety meds, I do not remember taking them, so those are off of the charts for me also. I do this for myself and my own health, not an idiotic ER doctor who enjoys to judging others. I was not there for pain meds, I just wanted to make sure I was OK. This doctor implied that I had hid the bottle of meds, and that I couldn't have taken them all because I would not be breathing. This was a very small prescription, by my request. We did find the bottle later and it was empty, but I do not remember any of the details of taking them. I won't apologize for this, meds affect us all in one way or another, it was a learning experience for me, but I also wanted a doctor to check me out, I don't have any death wishes here. I have also been to Barnes Jewish with the liver problems every month this year--I have been put under for a total of 10 procedures and one 6 hour surgery--Dr. Gilbreth told me that "someone like me never deserves pain medicine, in his personal opinion" even with everything I had gone through. I had to stand up to a doctor for the first time in my 45 years, after seeing close to 100 liver doctors all over the country--I had to ask him not to speak to me in that manner, and that my past did not negate me from pain control when it was sincerely needed, such as surgery. That according to the AMA, this is considered inhumane. The doctor was also aggravated that he had already seen 40 patients that day--this dr does not care for others, he is in it for the money. There was not one ounce of compassion in his soul. I did take this up with the hospital, it is going to his supervisor--the medical director of the ER--to be discussed with Dr. Gilbreth--so at least Cox does hold their doctors accountable in how they speak with their patients. With all of that said, they lost a long term patient this weekend, I have been going to Cox since 1997: I am fortunate enough that I have my choice of insurance and I can switch over to Mercy in January. The previous reviewer did not go into detail, I wanted people to know who he treated me: and that I actually went over to Mercy after leaving there, because my family and I sincerely wanted to make sure I would be ok--the medical staff at Mercy ER knew his name, and had mentioned that other patients who had seen him had come over to them, just as upset as I was. Dr. Gilbreth--move on--you are in the wrong field.
